Yes, I Sold My F23...

Interesting. But Mike you like to suffer or you buy this because it was very cheap? Because why buy genesis if F35 is better and easier to use? PL is universal. I wish you good luck. Will be cool to see the images.

I bought it because it was very cheap in comparison to what the F35 is going for and as you should know by now, im a huge Panavision superfan so... any opportunity I can get with their stuff I will take it :)

Welp. The genesis has eyes. I made a custom T Mount for the camera using the metal shim from the PV mount and a stepper thread ring and some E tape. Its solid, not perfect but its a start :b

Flange lines up and I have inf. focus.

Heres some rough around the edges first test footage using that lens mount. The spots in the first image are due to the lens being stopped all the way down and the internal glass in the lens is dirty.

I found a Sony FZ to Nikon lens adapter I had lying around in storage... working on modifying it to fit the genesis. I think it will be possible to get Nikon glass onto the genesis, just need to get some cheap crap lens like an old tamron nikon or something just to test/adjust flange and i should be good.

For $100 no need to get "cheap crap", you should be able to get a lens that is better than a lot of modern stuff, 50 1.8 for example

Very True. I just dont want to spend an arm/leg on a nikon lens not knowing for sure if i can actually make the mount. If i had a grand to throw at a proper adapter/mount builder I would, but I have to do things as cheaply as possible.

Im going to need a Nikon mount that has barely any length to it. I could cut down the one I have but I have no idea what tools I need to buy to do that myself.

I've never seen on of those before. There's not much room to work with there, try to find a set of pentagon sockets and hope one of them is small enough. Good luck on figuring out if it's metric or imperial.

If you take that IR glass out, there is a 99% chance you will get dust on it again while cleaning it without working in a clean room or a clean box machine with the proper tools.

(There are also plenty of cheap Nikon vintage lenses for less than $50 on eBay you can grab to test if you needed to.)

I figured. Its clean on the other side anyway, was just being OCD. The only T mount lens I have has a **** ton of crap in the middle glass elements. I thought for a moment it was the sensor or IF filter but its not.
