I've been racking my brain trying to figure out the best way to put HDV 24f footage on a standard dvd. I use AE, PPpro and encore. Can I get a quick rundown on a good workflow?, I know there are many different ways. I'm confused with compression settings, such as .avi, .m2v, etc... I know this may be a dumb question but i got some footage on my HD I'd like to transfer. P.s..I don't have a Blu-ray player yet, but have a nice up-scaling std. dvd player.
Any thoughts/ideas would be appreciated...thanks (still learning)

You can't burn HD footage to a regular DVD if that's what you're trying to do. The standard just isn't supported. If you just want to burn a regular SD-DVD then render uncompress avi out of Premiere and let Encore do the compression for you.

Thanks for the suggestions, I kinda understand, but do I output the video to 4:3 or 16:9, will I lose some of the frame if I use 4:3 ratio ? which one do you think will work better ?

No just choose letterbox if you want 4:3 but if you still want to watch on a hdtv just leave it 16:9.It's still SD ofcourse but you won't get the extra bars on an hdtv

I've done it before it looked like crap...and tried again and it looked a little better, but it still looks like garbage as far as quality is concerned.
