XH-A1 question before purchase.

Hi guys i am looking at getting the canon XH-A1, i read the camera is capable of shooting in either NTSC or PAL video formats. Users are able to have the firmware upgraded by Canon to support both formats at an additional charge. so if you had this camera with the upgrade it could in theory shoot : 60i, 30f, 24f, 50i and 25f. now will this simply convert a pal to ntsc or vise versa, or with you (once upgraded) have both formats to choose from ?? Has anyone done this ?? or know if it is possible ?? must canon do it ?? or can it be done by the consumer ??? thanks in advance. does anyone know how much this will cost ???

Yes, to the first three questions.
Canon can only do this.
It will cost 500 us or 500 euro's depending on where you buy from.Europe or America.

Yes I Canon.

thankyou for the reply. Just one more question, is there any way you can buy this already done ?, i guess the only way to do this is to buy direct from cannon and ask them to do the upgrade before shipping it out. Or must it be sent to them post buying the cam.

I'm not sure about this but I believe one of this site sponsor can have it upgraded for you. It would take an extra two days.
You can also ask at http://www.dvinfo.net.
I think one of the sponsor there is able to do this.
