Write Error, Check Card. Brand new GH1 for sale....

Personal experience: Transcend blows!

They are cheap for a reason and will let you down when you least expect it. For peace of mind, spend the money on a better brand card.

Transcend and Kingston are both unstable brands from my experiences and my peers. So far the best bang for your buck is the Patriot Class 6. For over a year I've used and abused the card in my HF10 shooting continuously to the 2+hour capacity at full res time and time again without a hiccup.

Of course I format everytime I clear the card, as everyone should.

Because of the Patriot's reliability I bought the same card for my GH-1 and haven't had any issues so far.

$32 for a Patriot Class 6 16gb at Fry's.

I'd put Transcend in anything (until today) before Kingston...Kingston isn't "good brand" for me...I

I'm going to disagree about Kingston. Used 3x 8GB class 6 cards cards very heavily for a feature film over 18-days. Never lost any data and each card was under $25 (including tax) from Fry's.

I've also used an 8GB class 6 SanDisk Extreme III which cost me almost $90 at Best Buy (what was close an open at the time). I've noticed no appreciable difference between the SanDisk and the Kingston.

Well one difference, I forgot about the SanDisk and it went through a 54-minute wash cycle in my pants pocket, then 45-minutes in the dryer bouncing around. Card still works just fine. Haven't tried a laundry "test" with the Kingston.

I have a 16GB card, but personally I prefer the 8GB card size for production. More recording time then we need, inexpensive to purchase (cheaper than an HDCAM tape), and 8GB transfers over USB2 really quickly. If 8GB get's discontinued and there's a "blow out sale" on 8GB class 6 cards I'm going to buy 100.
