wow! talented guy!

before you all go out and smash your cameras or kill yourselves guys... you first need to notice why he stuff is so good. Not to try to knock him down, cause he's damn good, but just to point out some interesting features in the clip...

His compositions and shots are great but that depth of field that looks so amazing is faked in a lot of shots... he deliberately did this and it looks great but it looks like he used post mattes to blur out a lot of the surroundings or backgrounds to give the impression of a shallow depth of field. Something i'm sure all of you can do...

The shots with the girl singing though... wow... some are just good... REALLY good... I can usually manage to find something wrong with stuff but practically every shot of her is golden!

Was only moderately impressed with the couple's shots... wasn't as strong I thought and most of the reason it looked so great was post correction...

This kid has a great eye for locations too... hmmm... makes me wanna go out and scope some areas around Toronto

You are absolutely correct Thinspirit. I too noticed the POST Focus and Color correction. I agree, the compositions of the brunette (smoking!) were very very nice and the couples footage is not spectacular (albeit good).

I watched the BEHIND THE SCENES featurette and the kid (all 17 of him) was right out there in the city with passers by, well, DIRECTING.

This is kick ass work, 17 or 70.

WOOOWWW... i hope he's one of those that grows up to become a prodigy or something.. otherwise, I feel very sad for myself.

The behind the scenes reminds me of Mike Donis directing his actors on his current film Gray Christmas... telling people to just go by "walk by! just don't look at the camera!" and of course they look directly into the lens ruining your shot...

He looks like a cool guy too... and never underestimate the power of having great looking people in your films! There's a reason why successful actors are so attractive... because they make your movie look nice!

yeah the chic in the video definitely helped with the overall look of the piece.

I did notice that the title compositing is just the sample video for Trapcode's 3D stroke. Duplicated many layers, at various opacities.. Clever use though...

funny, how we just bring him down and break him down into small pieces so he doesn't look so big anymore. the truth is anyone could have done what he did. You guys are all good! don't worry. but that fact is, he did it and made it look more like film and professional than anything I've ever seen so far. That's what we gotta give him.
bold kid though. kinda scary. But pro's are pro's for a good reason. Don't compare immaturely. we're way better for alot of good reasons.
anyway, i think talent is still a necessity. alot of bad people out there thinking they're good.

Yeah, definitely nice looking stuff. I find it slightly ironic, on the other hand, when you read the credits on that page - you know, about getting permission to use his material and respecting other people's art - yet that chic doesn't look at all like Alanis Morrisette. ;)

Im speechless! That was some really good stuff. I like the shot compositions, and the editing was good too. Yea the color correction looked hot too. 17 years old huh? Geez! That guy has some serious talent.

He's good. We don't doubt that. I think we all can give him credit where credit is due. He shot that music video with what looks like no lighting. A tripod and the camera. Props to him. The blur Sh*t was sweet. I think I'll be doing that a little bit more in the future. ;D. Don't get down on yourselves. But while you sleep, there are kids like this who study, work, and write to become the best they can be. Props bro. You just raised the bar for us to post to.

Has anyone ever seen the real video? I wonder how close his version is to the real one. This is obviously a result of watching an studying music videos day and night. I myself, can't stand MTV. ;)
