GH4 WOW..Check out this GH4 video. Brilliant!!

Those time lapse shots makes me wonder, as nice as what we've already been seeing, how good this camera would look if it were hacked to shoot RAW video. Vitaliy. :).


Just an afterthought. Don't get on my case.

Seriously.

Even if it didn't record it internally, the HDMI output sends 20 bits per pixel at 4K (4:2:2 10bit). Plenty to handle the probably 14bits or so of RAW video data.

All it would need to do would be to just pass the readout from the sensor across the HDMI with no further interference.

Record to that Shogun or whatever, then decode in post.

But of course probably the circuitry isn't designed that way. Damn it!

I love everything about that video.

Panasonic should have hired that guy to do their promo reveal videos.
 
i had GH3 and I was very satsfied with it ( as a semi artistic camera - for low budget commercial ).. but now, when I see all the shots of GH4, I am very happy owner of BMPCC + speedbooster.. RAW all over..
I trade framerate for latitude any time.. ( course, if I will need slowmo, I have friends with FS700 )..

anyway, GH4 is a lots of camera for that money.. depends on type of video you are producing..

Yes..I went and peeked at his other stuff....what a talent.

He said he will post his thoughts on this camera later. I'm kind of looking forward to that.

@bruceallen thanks for all you efforts so far. It made somewhat of a believer out of me.
 
I would hope sometime along the way we might see RAW, even though Im not a huge fan of it I think it would come in handy. The new Shogun and a hack is the key. The shogun can do DNG RAW at 4K....mabye they are hinting at something we dont know yet.
