World Exclusive First HVX200 Footage..PART 2

I saw this footage at the show. Whomever DP'd that (Jarred?) really knows what they're doing. Beautiful lighting and camera work. Excellent job!

wasnt me.. that was our pool of the best DP's in the West... Me and Barry realized we are better standing and looking at the camera then getting behind it so we got the pros in. Barry and me just stood beside the DP and swore at each other all day.

Looking on my Dell 24, I can see where the footage starts to drop in quality - when I played the clip on my 1280x800 laptop, it looked much better. Can't wait to see the real DVCPROHD footage today.

Both video's didn't play back well for me on my 15 Powerbook? It skipped around with no sound. Maybe I should try and view them on my Power Mac G5?

First off all, thanks guys. This is what everyone has been waiting for, and waiting for, and... Well, we've all been there.
But since I'm in Europe and can't see any real DVCPROHD footage, I'm looking even more forward to the time I will be able to. That stuff oughta blow our socks off. :)
So please god someone post some xmf files. Even just seconds... :)

haha, i got no sound on every single clipped that's been dl'ed! lol.....i didn't care, because i was looking for the image quality anyways.

Apple Power Mac Dual 2GHz Processor with 2gb of ram and the video still lag at 50% view and 100%. Is it because I've Windows Media Player on mac or it would do the same thing if it was compressed with H.264?

I"m getting the same on a dual 2.7 with 2gb of ram.
Kinda surprised me.

Looks gorgeous though!!
Straight out of the camera.... DAMN!

EDITED TO ADD:
It's actually lagging on ANY view size.
Is anyone able to play this video smoothly?

I've got almost the same system and it's doing the same thing. Looks great though.

Thanks Jarrod. I'm selling my DVX after I get the heads cleaned. Still would like to see a HD Rack for the HVX. I think we really need to educate ourselves regarding shooting HD. The ball is in our court to create beautiful images and convey emotions.

Truely gorgeous. Although my download didn't have any audio...what up with that? jk

Did you guys get a chance to shoot some res and color charts while you had the HVX?

Cheers

Guys, I don't think there was sound even encoded into the clips at all. I'm pretty sure this is all raw footage not some cut up production that's already been put together.

Yea plays back horribly on my mac. The stills look great, but my Dual 2.7Ghz Mac with 3.5 Gigs of RAM, and an X800 video card can barely play it back. Oh well.

I had the same thing with the WMV-file and the 1080 file in H.264.
They where a bit jumpy. But even then they looked good!
BUt both H.264 and WMV-hd are processor based codecs, so it chokes quite easely on heavy stuff like this.

Hmmm, maybe it's time for me to seriously look at the dual 2.5Ghz dualcore G5.

Yeah, like I needed an excuse!

That and windows media on a mac sucks...
XMF files that I could import in FCP however. They should be just fine. :)

Allright, I'll stop whining for a bit.
