yup you should throw your camera out of a window cause its definitely dead, yup the DVX is DEAD! :huh:

Although I dont have chills, the footage is impressive. I am officially saving up, in two years I should have enough in time for the B model. :thumbsup:

Oh don't get me wrong, Baby D is still being very good to me. It's just the beginning of the end. I'm sure this has been talked to death in the HVX forums (I've steered clear for the last couple months) but the proliferation of these things IS gonna make it tougher to compete. I don't care, I'm gonna cling to mine for as long as I can.

I like the tonal qualities of the 1080 clip. Can we get the set-up file for the camera settings? Plus was any filtration used on the lens? What was the post flow on this??

The 1080 clip reads as 720 and it's all screwed up. Something is wrong with it so I'll forgive the fac that it looks horrible.

720p looks amaizing, though. I really want one of these things...
 
If anyone thinks that they are going to switch over to the HVX just because of the footage is just crazy. I'd say 75% of the people on this forum haven't even mastered the DVX yet. I'd wait until that happens, then switch over to the new format. There's so much to learn still.

And to add to this......most of us don't even have the systems to run DVCPRO HD footage. Heck, a lot of us can't even view the footage correctly! Everyone settle down when you say the DVX is dying. I don't think it is. I think the camera is gorgeous and I'm creating better and better images with it everytime I use it.

Its on the very first post in the ftp-directory. Maybe you have to refresh the browser.
 
I have been getting requests for HD work. I never could compete with the guys in town who own Varicams and HDCAM. This will at least let me get in the door. We are talking about HD for large screen playback at corporate meetings. I had a client in yesterday who wanted me to re-budget for shooting in HD. The DVX will continue to go on all HD shoots as well.
 
ProjX, you're right unfortunately. But if they keep updating on new formats and new technologies, how will they get better? They wouldn't really have time to master what they first got. It makes me upset as you can see, because I can't afford an HVX or a system that can handle the footage. I'm going to become great at my DVX then make the move when necessary.
