You know, I don't feel much confident to enter this fest now! There's a lot of reputable members with excellent skills out there that are participating!

You know what, it's really nothing to be intimidated by. These fests are all about encouragement and getting to the finish line. I don't consider myself any kind of accomplished filmmaker, I'm just gonna try to have fun and see if I can tell a coherent story and actually have a few genuine scares. It's not about the prizes or bragging rights. Like Stephen Mick said, the only way to become a better filmmaker is to keep making more films.

1) The fear of doing something totally crappy when playing in the major league, is intimidating! ;)
2) I reckon that it's true. It's like anything else, the more you do, the more you master it.

Expect to make crap! It's ok!! Everyone has to puke something out, but much can be learned and gained from the experience. The journey is the reward. And you may just surprise yourself with what you were able to achieve.

Everyone knows that making films is hard. Talking about making them is easy.

Looks like a fun project Elton! I'm a BMCC shooter out in SLC, so if you could use an extra hand or something I'd love to help out:)

This is the post of the year! Well said Elton, well said.

Thanks fellas. Okay, I have a hell of a lucky location scout story that just happened a few hours ago. But let's just say I think my girls are good luck charms! Sorry, for some reason my vertical shots from the iPhone end up sideways when uploaded to this site. Fix later

Wow... great locations AND help...who could ask for anything more?
I swear, I'm the ONLY DVXUser in all of upstate New York!

I guess that makes you a *Lone Wolf*? And still truly using a DVX! Oh well, at least you don't have to worry about rolling shutter. Make the whole film a running handheld shot and rejoice in the lack of jello. :)

Just pulling the old DVX out of the closet for this one... thought it might be fun. I shoot most everything on the AF100 & HMC150 these days.
So, if all goes well, I'll tweak and shoot this a second time on the AF100 for future festivals!

Coolness...but are you a glutton for punishment? Why not rent that Panasonic 3D camera and shoot on it--that way you've already shot it twice!
