Wide & Fast. What are the options?

Looking for something in the teens or even single digits (yeah right). Something like a 14mm 1.3 zeiss prime but ahh maybe half the price (again yeah right). Is there anything out there? I have seen c-mount lenses in this size but it would have serious vignetting which I want to avoid.

Anything?

When you say teens you mean $13,000; $14,000; $15,000; right?

I settled for a Sigma 24mm 2.8 with Macro focusing. It's everything I expected, based on what others said about it -- sharp wide open, not the best at handling flare (Lens hood required!), a lot of fun with the macro range.

It was $95 used.

Canon FD 24mm 2.8 ...S.S.C handles flare pretty well. it's a tough coating. used on ebay for $90.50.
saaby...what's the macro-focusing on the Sigma?...never knew what that feature was...haven't researched Sigma much.

0100...be more specific on your prices?

Oh sorry teens as in 11mm-15mm. Single digits as in 7mm-9mm. Something like the zeiss 14mm 1.3.

I have a 24mm 2 already but craving something a lot wider and faster. The new Panasonic 14mm coming out looks cool but I want stupid fast.

I guess I would drop $3000 for a 14mm 1.3 is what I am saying, but I don't think one exists in that price range.

Yeah the 20mm 1.7 really is a good deal for sure. Just was looking for something wider. Is zeiss the only one who makes something like a 14mm 1.3?

Thanks guys for al the suggestions, keep them coming!

Oh thanks, that's not bad, 10mm wider than my ($200) 24mm F/2. Just not sure I can justify $1650 more for a 10mm wider lens with the same f/stop...

Damn this is close, just wish it was like at least a 1.4.

Panasonic has a 14mm f/2.8 coming out but not till the fall...however I am guessing the pricing will be well under $1,000.
