i just shot a video n realise its not as clear as my mkii. i set it at a standard resoulution.its also on dynamic shake mode. i read dynamic shake is not so good.

pls take a look at these 2 videos

the clearer one is 5d mkii

IDK, The XA10, should be able to produce a great image. Not anywhere near as 5d in low light, but outdoors should be fine. Can you be much more specific with your camera settings, and your post work flow. Will be a lot easier to find the issue.

When you say you set your cam to standard resolution, you mean SD, as in NOT, high def? That would certainly produce a less resolved image than the 5d.

Its in Sp mode, I did not set it when i use it. Now i set it to MXP PF24 frame. which is better PF24 or true 24F. & in 60i or 24F?

I need it in the highest resolution for weddings, films & presentations.

I use FCPX for editings

64GB internal flash drive*
LP (5Mbps) 24 hours 30 minutes
SP (7Mbps) 19 hours 10 minutes
XP+ (12Mbps) 11 hours 30 minutes
FXP (17Mbps) 8 hours 20 minutes - Allows 1920 x 1080 Full HD Recording
MXP (24Mbps) 5 hours 55 minutes - Allows 1920 x 1080 Full HD Recording

Use MXP with 24F, not 24PF, if you want to match with 5DII's 24P. SP mode is a low resolution and bitrate - I wouldn't ever shoot at anything below MXP, which is trup 1080p and the highest bit-rate for best quality.

Yes, always use the highest quality setting on the XA10 (or any video camera for that matter). That being said, I actually preferred the footage from the first video, and according to the vimeo.com notes that is the XA10. I find the first video to have richer, more subtle color and dynamic range. Yes, if you look closely it's not quite as sharp as the second video - is that what you mean? Once you're using the highest quality setting, is there a sharpness adjustment on the XA10? I have its big brother the XF100 and find that I prefer to dial up the sharpness just a bit from the factory settings.

great i will try that. as for the first video i was using xa10 built in cine mode maybe that why it look better? i will look for the sharpness mode & tune it up alittle.

I don't know what you mean by "lines" but I can tell from the editing that you're using iMovie. Do you have iMovie set to retain full HD? I think by default it down samples the footage to work better on lesser power Macs, at the expense of some quality. With iMovie open, go to the iMovie Menu, choose Preferences...,go to the Video tab, and make sure Import HD video as: is set to "Full - Original Size."

As I recommended in an earlier post, you can do sharpness, color saturation, etc., adjustments with the camera - here's a thread i found that discusses this:
