Who's heard this rumor?

Here's the deal: every coporate meal plan does one of two things, either cleaning you out or plugging you up, within the first week. More often, it's the former. That's why the food gets the laxative rumor. (The same rumor, by the way, has circulated about Taco Hell for years claiming that they use "grade D" beef and must add laxative so that it can be processed. It's been disproven time and time again.)

So why the side effects? Well... are you used to a regular meal plan? Or rather, is your GI system used to a regular meal plan? Probably not. Suddenly, you're eating more regularly. Add to that that cafeteria food isn't known for being fat-free, and fats can loosen up the aftermath. They also serve higher-fiber foods that you probably didn't eat regularly... broccoli and other veggies, especially. So what happens? You get to school, you eat regularly for a week, and eat food that's fatty and has higher fiber content that you're used to. Suddenly, you have to poop. A lot. And it ain't pretty.

There are no laxatives. This is a product of a major change in daily eating habits. And it's not as much that the food is of such notably lesser quality (though Aramark does generally suck). It's that you're system is shocked by the sudden and drastic change. It has to catch up.

I work a week-long conference every December in Hendersonville, NC. I think the conference center uses Aramark, too. By the second or third day, I have some major paperwork to go over. Happens every year.

if you ever got disentry you will notice the tiredness and drowsyness that comes along.

its a known fact and quite logical: our intestine is one of our largest organs and if you stress it, your whole system goes bad.

i had a food allergy once and since then can not eat out in dirty restaurants anymore, I get sick within 10 minutes if the cook doesnt wash his hands!

I am so sensitive I dont even have to go to a lab....I know it right away and send the inspectors

One RA said that he asked the food manager here, who said that it's standard practice in all colleges, just in case the food is bad, so it passes through you quicker and doesn't effect as many people.

This is from the first post.

Hey Joe, I hope your looking into it. No one has a right to drug you no matter what they think is best for you or your fellow students. That's a no go, right?

Let us know what happens. I'm serious. Check this psycho out. Check the food.
If it's fine, wait till you get the symptoms again, then check it again.

That doesn't sound right man. If you and others are suspecting being drugged, then find out.

Let us know! Your Food Manager sounds like he has a bad attitude.
