Would any please may comments any feedback using this particular lens on 35mm adapters?

There are out there both pro's & con's about this Zeiss ZF. Some says it isn't as sharp and fast as other Zeiss ZF primes. Others even have post very nice results with this lens. Here's a sample:

Any personal user reviews about? Any issues about portholing, vignettes, etc?

I'm still on pause about ordering this lens. Seems to be the best option on the 24-25mm FOV. I already own the 35mm and 50mm Zeiss ZF for my RedRock M2 + microX with nikon mount... both wonderful. I'm looking for that extra wide angle and thought this 25mm f/2.8 will fit... Or will the Zeiss ZF Wide Angle 28mm f/2.0 be a better option?

Cheers!

I noticed some vignetting the wide angle shots, I dont know if this is due to the adapter or your lens.

There's a very light vignetting on the wide shots... You are right. But nothing to much concerning! I think it's better on this matter over the Nikon AIS 24mm /f2.8...

Thanks for your comments.

H;)

I've personally tested the Nikon 17-35mm f2.8 constant aperture lens and it is the best wide angle we've ever tested, prime or otherwise, for edge to edge sharpness wide open, and a usable image frame beyond 36mm with no vignetting. I can only speak for it's behaviour on the Brevis system with HV20/CF1 or larger cams and CF1Le so your mileage may vary ;-)

It is known in the photog crowd as a sharp lens with extremely low edge fall off...so I'd check it out.

Has any one checked the price of the Zeiss/Nikon mount from P+S technik?

The distributor for USA is:

OK I made a mistake the price is 2700$ each and it is on the page that I posted...

But there are rumors that the real price is 2200$ when you call and ask for a package. Has any one asked for a quotation?

Or has any one tryed these modified Zeiss?

I have both the zeiss 25mm and the nikon 17 to 35. The ziess is a great sharp lens and has a long barrel rotation so its easy to be precise in focusing. It does have a slight vignette on my Letus Ex but that doesn't really worry me - it looks cool.
The Nikon 17-35 is unbelievably sharp for a zoom ( or even for a prime ). It has no light falloff that I can see, even at 17mm. It is a modern zoom so the barrel rotation is quite short but I've been able to work with it and it's possible to set a hyperfocal distance on lenses this wide and not worry too much. If you can afford this lens, get it.
Regards,
Shane.

Thanks Shane. I think i'm going to replace my zf 25mm with the 17-35mm. I figure, they are both the same speed (2.8) and with the zoom I gain up to 17mm wide shots. As far as the long throw of the 25mm, I dont pull focus much at all on shots that wide so I dont think thats an issue.

The only thing that I will miss is the fact that the ZF 25mm has a close focus distance of like 3 inches or something. Very cool.

Thanks for the info.

Mike, that 17-35 will close focus at 2-3 inches too...so no worries there.

Great news. For some reason, I thought I read differently on a spec sheet. Thanks for the info. And thanks again for luggin all that hardware down on your trip to NY. Puttin it to use soon.

i use it all the time. It's an amazing lens

will it be noticeable to use the Nikon 17-35mm lens for wide shots and Zeiss lens for standard shot? (50mm)
because the Zeiss lenses are more sharp and crisp right?
