Hi, i was wondering if you could suggest me a ND filter during sunlight for my canon 60d ?

Thanks in advance,
Have a good day

Tiffen is a great brand.
Hoya Pro ND is a great brand.
B+W is a great brand.

Variable strength ND filters will almost ALWAYS cause color shifts or dulling of sharpness - or both.

The most common strength most people end up using most commonly is 4-stops of light cut.
3-stops is also common. 6-stops and 9-stops will be needed if the light is VERY bright or if you want to really blur motion - like flowing water etc. Or if you want to get a shallow depth of field while still shooting in bright daylight.

A good 4-stop ND filter is probably the best place to start. Add more later as you feel they are needed.

thanks. Im a bit confused with the number. 0.9 or 0.6. What does it means ? Is 0.9 would be good enough ?

0.3 for every stop of light reduction. So, 0.3 = 1 stop, 0.6 = 2 stops, 0.9 = 3 stops, 1.2 = 4 stops.

There is no single ND filter that will be everything you need. A good filter kit has a range of ND available, plus grad ND. Graduated ND knocks only part of the image down and is available with hard and soft edges. These are useful, as examples, for reducing exposure on the sky in order to bring up land below the horizon, or to knock down a highly reflective building to keep proper exposure on a darker building next door.

There are variable ND filters that adjust across a range of stop reductions, but there are drawbacks to them. Most often, they can soften the image or cause some chromatic aberrations.

DP and Alex "nailed" it for you. I carry 0.6ND (2 stops), 0.9ND (3 stops), and 1.2ND (4 stops reduction). Out in strong daylight I find the 4 stop reduction most useful. I got them in Tiffen brand.

Buy for the largest filter size lens you use and get step down rings for the smaller diameters. And get a good folding rubber hood in that largest size so you can put it on the filter and get decent shielding. Folding rubber because you want to collapse it when using wider lenses.
