GH3 Which lens for m4/3 do you enjoy working with the most?

Obviously different lenses get used for different kinds of shots. It's easy to have different favorites depending on the shot or scene. But that's not what I'm curious about.

I'm wondering which one lens that you have actually used - owned, rented, borrowed - do you enjoy working with the most on your m4/3 camera?

No doubt, the Voigtlander 25mm 0.95. It is beautiful in contrast and bokeh. It is a pleasure to focus and sweet at any stop. It is easily the lens I use most for stills and motion. I have other lenses that I love too but that 25mm makes me want to stay on m4/3. If I ever moved I would miss it like a lost love.

My current fav is the Voigtlander 17.5mm f/0.95. Love the 35mm field of view, fantastic lowlight and buttery smooth bokeh. The step-less iris is lovely for video, and I like how you can lock it into the place with a twist of the ring for situations where I don't want to accidentally knock the ring and change the aperture.

I second this. Shot a music video (very close to being released) on the GH2 and the Voigt 25mm. Intended to just use the Voigt for some specialty shots, and ended up using it about 75% of the time. Awesome lens. I would recommend the 17mm for the GH3/BMCC due to the greater crop than on the GH2, where the 17mm is a bit too wide.

Amen to that. I’ve had mine declicked by the Lens Doctor and have a follow focus ring on it so it’s fully video friendly.

In addition, I like the Lumix G X Vario 12-35mm out of my automatic lenses as the stabilisation works really well.

Still, I just have more affection for manual lenses every time, I even have a soft spot for the maligned SLR Magic 12mm.

Voigtlander 17.5
for all the reasons Van and Gary enumerate, and more.

Leica D 14-50/2.8-3.5
Technically not "micro" 4/3, but far and away my favorite doc lens on the AF100. Size, range, and speed are "just right," sharp enough, focuses smooth, zooms smooth, OIS, near enough parfocal... I've gotten past its aperture inconsistency and breathing long ago. I own the 12-35, but have been disenchanted with its lesser range; the 12-35 lives on my GH2 but rarely makes it onto the AF100, which does most of my heavy lifting.

For fast jobs where I know tele won't be a need, these two are all I usually bring.

Don't suppose anyone's seen any time lapse shots (or even night sky stills) done with the Voigtlander 17.5mm? teh google isn't turning anything up and I'm wondering how well it might perform for that kind of work.

Agreed 95%

The bummed 5% is the clicking aperture ring-- sure wish it were smooth-- but I plan on getting a hold of a 17mm in the future, which has clickless.

The Nokton is simply stunning-- stunning

Canon FD 35mm f2

I actually really like the 35 focal length on the GH2 far more than I would have expected.

Many thanks fellows, I may call on Duclos to "fix" my Nokton-
I had seen his site before, having done a bit of research, but seeing you actual customers recommending it makes the service more appealing.

I love using my Olympus OM's. Nice fit for the camera size. They breathe a bit and can suffer from ghosting, but nice otherwise.
