Which good wide (cheap) lenses for 7D?

[dsp_418]

I'm looking for a good affordable wide angle lens for the 7D.
So far it seems that the Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS is the best solution, but I'd like to hear your thought. Even used lenses and adapters could be a solution if there's something good as long as the range is as for the EF-S 18-55 around $150.

I could use a Nikkor 18-55, anyone knows which pro and cons with that solution?

The Canon EFS 18-55/IS is pretty well the best bang for the buck. I see them under $100- all the time, the older non-IS one goes for about $50- used.

Sigma makes a 18-50mm 2.8-4.5

I spent an extra 40 bucks to get this guy with my t2i and it was WELL worth it if your even thinking about getting a kit lens.
18 is pretty wide too, even on a cropped sensor.

Basically, I recommend this lens to anyone that was thinking about getting a kit lens like me. Comes with a free lens hood too .

It can't be beat for the money. You should also have canon the 50mm 1.8 to go with it for a hundred bucks more. The 18-55's weak end is the 55mm f5.6. The 1.8 will be easy to drag around and save you in a low light crunch.

Thank you guys for your help. So the Canon 18-55 seems a good choice.
It looks interesting the Sigma 18-50 too.
@ DOSMedia: do you have any sample?

DOSMedia - Can you elaborate a bit on your Sigma 18-50? I'm super curious how well the image stabilization works. I haven't seen any "test" videos comparing it on and off, but would really like to see some good video examples of this.

It seems pretty solid though.
