Is it though? Really? I dunno, I'd want to see some footage. What I'm seeing right now is an FS100 that adds ND filters and a burst slow-mo mode, and an SDI port. Sure those are nice upgrades from the FS100, but ... other than that... what does it really add? It's still an 8-bit 4:2:0 AVCHD camcorder.Yes. In the look good while shooting awards

What if the 4K recorder is $15,000 and the raw output module is another $15,000? Is it still epic at that point?
Well how else would you expect to get 4k out of it? What other 4k delivery method is there? If 4k out of the FS700 is only available through a proprietary Sony recorder, that would be a total slap in the face to the people who purchase it.
Well, but, thing is, 3G-SDI is based on SMPTE 424M, and SMPTE 424M has no provision for 4K. So I don't think there will be any standardized way to get 4K out of a standard 3G-SDI port. Not only that, but the existing 4K capture cards out there (Kona 3G and Blackmagic) require *two* 3G-SDI ports to transport 4K.Granted there are no 3G-SDI recorders for 4k yet, but at long as any third party is possible outside of a proprietary.
Sony has an SR-R4 4K recorder that costs around $13k or so. So between the camera and that recorder (if indeed it could use that recorder) you'd be looking at around $20k, plus the cost of memory. A 256gb SRMemory card is about $4,000.I expect this camera to set you back when the 4k is available of $16-20,000.
I don't know what Panasonic could cook up in a new AF series camera or if they even might do a HPX style camera with larger sensor. If they would go for the HPX I see no reason to not go for S35 sensor size and all the bells and whistles that is inside the HPX250. Seems to be feasible if they have the ability to make large sensors other than m4/3 sized ones.
None. A user changeable mount. An S-35 sensor camera with the AVC-intra 100 codec recording to P2 would be a killer combo. I wouldn't be surprised if Panny has one up their sleeve. But what lens mount would it have?
Isn't Panasonic too heavily invested in micro 4/3 to dump it now? It would also ramp up the very nice price point they've been sitting at. Besides, do we really *need* another super 35 camera? That market seems quite saturated already.
