When is Adobe support for FS700 and Odyssey 7q coming?

Just a heads up. I notice there's a new "Adobe After Effects CC 2014" installed. Unlike other updates i've seen, you'd actually want to replace your desktop shortcuts, etc, with the new 2014 versions.

Yes cc 2014 doesn't replace the old versions but installs a new app. You need to also import your old settings etc which is an easy process though. Not sure why they decided to do that, maybe to prevent potential problems with plugin or script incompatibilities (so a user can easily open the old ver).

One major question. How do i get the DNG graded in ACR either before or after importing to PP? There's an "Source Settings" but that's very limiting. Then there's an "Edit Original" which brings it up in ACR, great. Except i can't seem to save any grading to the actual file IN PP.

Interesting that the magenta highlight problem does no occur when i open the file in ACR, but does in PP.

Right there with ya ChadN, how do we save and apply the look we create with ACR for use in Premiere? Seems like it could be the solution for getting rid of Magenta....

I am new to working with DNG files but I tried using adobe Bridge, made the ACR adjustments in it, copy pasted setting to all DNG's in the Clip folder. Agreed there is no Magenta issue when viewing through ACR. If I open one of the random DNG in Photoshop afterwards, I see the adjustments I made, but when I go to look at the video in Premiere, the ACR adjustments are non existent? Is there some step in Adobe Bridge I am not aware of to save the file a certain way after adjustments. I don't udnerstand why Photoshop ackonwledges the ACR adjustments I made in BRIDGE, but Premiere does not recognize them? I have never really done much of anything with Adobe bridge either so this is pretty new to me as well so I happy for someone to tell me I am doing something wrong.

the clipped highlights -> magenta problem to me looks like a problem that should not be too hard to fix. but no ACR? thats what would have made this implementation the really big deal!

unfortunately i havent been able to get a nice look through speedgrade too. everything seems to be far too saturated. on the other hand, the Slog2 LUT provided by CD doesnt the job i would have expected. this may be a fault on my side (i have nearly no experience with speedgrade), but for now im sticking with the resolve workflow.

but hey, at least, i can preview my dng sequences in premiere. biiiiig update ;)

Happy that I can now import the RAW footage into Premiere and start editing it natively into my sequences. This magenta thing has to get sorted soon! ACR would be beautiful too, but I'll definitely settle for the three simple controls offered now. I wonder if there is a pre-import way to reconfigure the dng file to be similar to another format this IS supported? May be a good interim solution until a patch arrives.

Yeah I was super stoked on natively editing the RAW but it's completely unusable as is. To me, this is the same as before. I guess one thing I didn't test was rendering out a clip... I'll test that now.

EDIT: Magenta is in the export. Wah wah.

what a bummer... i thought they were working on Odyssey Compatibility. I can imagine that they were only sent footage without overexposed areas?

I know ACR works well with the 7Q DNGs in After Effects, through Adobe Bridge. I wonder if editing your project in PP, then linking the whole thing to AE and color correcting there (through ACR) would work. Probably a giant mess.

Well, i hope it gets fixed soon. At the risk of sounding negative, i won't hold my breath. It's more than just the magenta highlights. The whole image doesn't look quite right to me, compared to simply opening it in ACR.

Added a post as well. Thanks for starting it!
Thanks, the more the better.

I'm a little bummed, I applied to be a CC beta tester a while back and I would have loved to iron out this kink before an official release... I think it would have made for a LOT of happy 7Q users.

The DNG files were always able to be opened in ACR from bridge, Photoshop and After Effects. The issue seems to only be in how Premiere is decoding/rendering it. Hopefully it is a simple fix and will roll out soon once they hear about it.

The major bummer is that it used to be a totally unusable fully magenta image. Now it's a 95%-perfect-but-not-quite-there-rendering-it-actually-unusable image. It's one of those situations where "almost there" isn't good enough.

Yeah, they really should have fixed this by now, the image comes out a little over saturated too, rather dissappointing

I've PM'd David McGavran from Adobe who we were talking to some months ago about the inclusion of DNG RAW into PPro. Hopefully he'll get to see these posts and provide some input.

This really would've been the perfect solution, dropping the files into media encoder, applying a slog LUT in the effects panel and rendering everything out as prores.

that is what i am doing in resolve, and it works like a charm. the perfect solution for me would have been to get rid of this step and simply apply the LUT in SG or PP. maybe some genius LUT designer will be able to create a slog LUT that works.

the best results (regarding to match some looks i regularly use) i have had so far was using the "match color" function within SG, but unfortunately the images look terrible (of course its hard to see in these sized screenshots. if there is interest i could upload them anywhere else). as mentioned before, i am really new to speedgrade (and grading in general). to me it feels, as if there is a lot of dynamic range lost via the direct import in PP, and therefore your freedom for grading is very limited in comparison. well, i hope i am completely wrong and just doing something totally incorrectly ;)

As a PC user and being new to 4K and DNG's, what is my option to export the files as a 4K image? There is a way, right? LOL.
