Big part of my childhood as well. That and 'Gunsmoke' some years earlier. 'Death Valley Days', 'Lone Ranger', 'Wagon Train' and 'Bonanza' were regular programs back then, too. Waaaaay back then and before 'Kung Fu'.

Who can forget 'Big Valley', or 'The Virginian'. 'High Chaparral' anyone?

'Maverick' and 'Have Gun Will Travel' to name a few more. The 50s, 60s and 70s were loaded with great western fare.

I don't think the western will ever die.

Well since tv shows have come up....Love Deadwood, Al Swearengen (Ian McShane)one of the best tv characters ever. Fan of Firefly as well.

When I was a kid (a very young kid) I used to love Kung Fu with David Carradine.

Yeah, what happened to 'Deadwood?" That show was excellent.

Glad somebody mentioned "Big Valley" too. That was a great show too.

Ah a Deadwood siting, the best TV western ever, I keep hoping someone will revive it. I have season #1 and I love it.

My faves are Dead Man, Once Upon a Time in the West, and Tombstone. Dollars trilogy is awesome too - I love Leone films.

I absolutely hate the new 3:10 to Yuma. I haven't seen the original, so I don't know if I hate it too.

Once upon a time..., Road Warriors, Tombstone, Unforgiven, Cold Mountain, The Proposition, Open Range.

The original is great. A nice little character study. The new one does suck floppy donkey balls, but the original is very good.

Tombstone, Red Sun, The Outlaw Josey Wales.

But if I had to pick just one it would be Once Upon a Time in the West.
