What's wrong with JVC?

I always found it strange DVXU has a Canon and Sony section but no JVC section. Why does everyone hate JVC? There cameras seem to be pretty good. I toyed around with the HM100 and loved it. A friend shot a short on the original HD100 and it looked great, And it's a sister company to Panny so what's wrong with JVC? I mean it's not a little company.

LOL, a subforum buried in the "other cameras" forum. Nice. I always thought "other cameras" were for "off brands" or new companies.

I'd think that if there were enough JVC activity on these forums to warrant it, it would be moved up to its own forum. And the "Other Cameras" forum has always had the subtitle that includes Sony, Canon, and JVC.
 
C2V pretty much has it.

Unless we know of something big before hand (like a new 'Fest being launched), we make forum sections based on user demand. If people are talking about it, we make it a section.

If you want to complain about JVC... try having all of 8mm, 16mm, and 35mm motion picture film being in a subsection of 'other cameras'. :cry:
 
Granted the subforums of "Other Cameras" don't get much use, but there has to be a better way to arrange them so they can at least be seen. It's a little hard for people to post in them if they don't even know they're there... :)

IIRC, they didn't used to be quite as buried as they were; I think the current layout may have happened when the Canon section was extracted and moved to the "main page" when the XH-A1 took off.
 
It seems like more often than not it's the operators of DVXUSER that choose which cam is "popular" or not. They typically decide on a few cameras and pick them to have their own thread. I don't think it's at all based on what their subscribers actually most often use.

This statement is completely untrue.

We mods have no say of which camera is popular.

I always come hear wondering is anyone using the HM100. And I'm like, "Wow, all the FCP people here and no one is using it." Yet the prices seems to be steady so people are buying. Then I went to look for more info and was like, "Yikes, no JVC."

I'll attest to this, I do go over to DVI specifically for the JVC stuff, but it's not the same as being here, but if I want to see how people are using JVC cameras or dealing with certain issues I almost have to go there.
