What's better, 20mm f/1.7 or a bunch of old used lenses?

What do you think is better, purchasing the 20mm f/1.7 or spending the same $400 on a bunch of old used lenses with a mount adapter?

1.7 is slow and can be a PITA to focus (though it's much better and silent on the GH2 but you'll really need to use the touch screen as the focus ring is a PITA). Manual lenses are all good.

Yea, im in the same boat. I'd love the 20mm, but there are so many issues with using it for video.
Currently, I love using my kit on my glidecam rig. Its nice and wide and im ONLY using it outside so light isn't an issue.
Inside, I use a few Nikon lenses. A 35mm f2, 50mm 1.4, and 85mm 1.4 with my shoulder rig and tripod.
I feel cumbersome though, and it takes a few mins to switch over lenes in a pinch. So the 20mm seems like a nice solution.
But the 20mm uses the electronic focusing ring which kinda makes it hard to use with a Follow Focus. And the auto focus is a no go for filming (i've heard how bad it is with hunting)
So, with all that in mind... its still hard to justify how useful this lens is for almost $400. But, i would love to hear other's impressions with this lens when filming "events", verse Canon and Nikon lenses.
