What will the CCD's HVX-200 be?

Barry, I might be one of those people wanting it "under 5k" (Well, I'd pay a little more than 5k in reality) but the issue isn't with being unsatisfied with 1080p/24. While that's nice, I'd rather have 720p only at a cheaper price. Guess for me, I consider 1080p a "bell and whistle" on top of a great HD cam....Maybe I'll change my mind when I see the thing ;)

Ah hell! Just give us three full frame chips!

But seriously, do you think we’ll ever see a prosumer model offered with a single 2/3 chip instead of three 1/3 chips?
Would it even be worth doing if three ½ chips were an option?

The other thing I was thinking about was how professionals who shoot HD are accommodated with full frame super 35mm sensors, so do you think the independent will ever be accommodated with super 16mm sensors? The Kinetta was kind of close to doing this, maybe they or somebody else still could?

full frame chip? I don't think there's such a concept in the video world..

You know, I just made this up. So I'm the 'somenone'. I thought the smilie should be clear enough. I mean, I did not even know about the supposed thread size.

It says DVCPRO HD/50/25 and DV. So it will probably have a MiniDV transport?

That's my guess as well. Plus, it has FireWire out, so I'm assuming direct to disk is also an option! Damn, this is gonna be one HOT camera...

Wow, check out the ol' Policar, scoring the big find! So yes, it looks pretty darn official (unless this is a Rich Lee spoof site!) Three 16:9 1/3" CCDs, CineGamma, and a firewire port. And it says DVCPRO100/50/25 *and* DV recording. Now, if I were to gamble on that, I'd say that we already know there's not going to be a DVCPRO tape mechanism of any type in it. And the only difference, AFAIK, between DVCPRO25 and DV is the type of tape it gets recorded on. So what would be the difference, when recorded on P2? *nothing*. Therefore, I say it's practically confirmed: there *will* be a miniDV tape transport.

(or not)

Way to make a solid call Barry!

The website is WRONG. It's going to have 2/3" chips. And you can quote me on that!! :)

Um, just kidding!! 1/3" it is!!

Oh, one more thing....Now that the 1/3" is pretty much official.....let the low-light and latitude speculation...BEGIN NOW!!!

Jarred got pissed and said i was wrong

but I was on the money

JVC and Panasonic will be using a

Matsushita 3x 1/3 inch Progressive Scan CCD System

in the

JVC GY-HD100U

&

Panasonic HVX-200U

Research and development costs are cut in half (You would do the same thing)
