C300: What should be the canon line up

- Canon bridge like the sony a6300 - 1000usd
- Canon C100 2k - 3000usd
- Canon C100 4k (with the fs5 specs) - 5000usd
- Canon C300 mark2 for 10.000usd
- Please Please a removable sholder and grip add on for the c100 line...please

The price gap in the cinema line for 2k to 4k in 2016 its just stupid and a wast of money to sony...just plain stupid...

I concur with this....they would draw back some Sony movers with these specs and prices....

I agree with this too.....they made it too easy for Sony...

I don't know what the complete Canon line-up should be, but I would like to see a full frame Cinema EOS camera, utilizing the C300 form factor, complete with professional video and audio I/Os, EVF, etc. The only example I know of is the Sony NEX-VG900, which is not a professional camera.

Actually Canon used the S35 sensor size in their cinema cameras (except 1DC) so that people can use their existing cinema lenses. Also some may have immediately said that Canon is repurposing their 5D full frame sensor in a cinema body. There are many people with vested interests talking in various forums that Canon's cinema lenses are just normal still lenses.

However, now that the cinema lineup is well established, Canon can make a full frame cinema camera (in a non-DSLR body).

Personally I feel that since Canon has already made up their profits in the C100 camera, they should retain that and simply lower the price to the 1200-1500 usd levels. That will help many people buy that camera instead of DSLRs.

The original C100 is down to $2,500 the upgraded dual pixel auto focus version is $3,000.

But the high end C500 MKII that was rumored to be unveiled at this CES won't be. According to rumors.

Last night I noticed on Canon's Cinema EOS web site the C100 MK2 and C500 are no longer listed. Waiting for Canon to announce replacements at NAB.

Didn't go to NAB and have been busy shooting and editing but a cursory glance reveals that there didn't seem to be any hot new "must have" cameras from anyone at this NAB? Is there something I missed? Other than the 18-80 lens, did Canon even announce anything new? Perhaps we are finally reaching saturation where companies don't feel the need to introduce new camera models every 6 months? That's one thing I miss from the old Betacam days. Yes, I paid $70k for my Betacam but it was then current state of the art for like 4-5 years. These days, it seems investing anything over $10k on a camera seems insane unless you have a project that will pay for for it quickly? As far as buzz, this NAB seemed to be light on real innovation, most of what I have seen in the press are gadgets and accessories, drones and VR.

There were new announcements - Kinefinity 5/6K cameras, Panasonic 1" camcorders, the high end Sony studio/broadcast 4K cameras, Canon ME-200 mini box and Sony FS-5 Raw upgrade.

Canon, according to rumors, decided to postpone the unveiling of its C500 MKII until the later date (possibly, the IBC in September). Sony made a pre-NAB announcement that there'll be no update on their Cine Alta (aka F5/55/65) line, with the exception of a new external recorder.

So, it seems that outside of the 1" Panny camcorders for the event/ENG shooters, the DVX User main interest lies in the $5,000-$20,000 models and that niche has been more or less neglected at the NAB'16.

PS. Red Raven, Scarlett and their top of the line Weapon, along with Panasonic LT, have been announced a while ago and have gathered only moderate interest here (although, I assume, a lot more on Red User)
