C500: What is the best compact flash card for a Canon c500?

1 You need one that is equal or better than the max transfer speed of the camera

2 You need an appropriate capacity. Some people like more smaller capacity cards some fewer larger capacity.
(reason for smaller capacity is that if there is a problem or a failure (or you loose the card) you potentially loose fewer images)

3 Any recommended by Canon for your camera or a reputable make such as Sandisk, Lexar etc

4 BUY FROM A REPUTABLE SUPPLIER not the cheapest online webshop/ebay. There are a LOT of fake Sandisk/Lexar about from cut price web-shops.

Thanks for reply, I was looking on Ebay and found there brand PixelFlash 1100X Supersport CF, I made an offer of $175.00 and they seller excepted. It's a lifetime warranty and is made in USA. Says it works for Canon and is 1106x but I'm familiar with that brand. I looked online and they have a website and their online price for a 256gb is $249.95.
If they compact flash card is guaranteed with this brand so I purchase it and to test it out since it is an American company?

The average price is $275.00 to $295.00 for a 256gb Sandisk and Lexar but if Pixalflash is lifetime warranty, could I got wrong to try it out?

Hi! I will gives you a life time guarantee on my last message and it too was Made in the USA.....

Says it works for Canon and is 1106x but I'm familiar with that brand.

My Nikon 50mm F1.2 also works with Canon and is even faster....
(it's easy to say anything on the internet and because my server is based in Brazil, my account registered in India and I am in **** there is F all you can do about it!)

I looked online and they have a website and their online price for a 256gb is $249.95.

You got a bargain... I will do it for 150 USD, just wire there money by the time the ebay complaints system has started moving I will be in my 3rd new account.

I don't know the outfit you are buying from but anyone can set up on eBay and say anything. People can buy profiles and high ratings in ebay I believe.

I buy my memory cards ONLY from known companies with real premises. I may use their web shop rather than visit but.... for you somewhere like Adorarma or B&H?
If the price is really low ask yourself why? Think about what margin distributors have for these things....

Also counterfeit memory cards do come with (fake) labels of well known brands of them and are usually rejects or 2nd/3rd quality memory. Often you don't find out after a week of using them.

For Still photography I still use 8GB cards. How many images do you need to store before downloading? Actually I have several 8GB cards per camera.
Vor Video I use 64GB cards.... (normally 2 in parallel for safety) which is good for 5 hours of 1080p *50 FPS..

So why do you need 256GB in one card?

Just realised you said
"but I'm not familiar with that brand." They why spend money on an unknown brand?

"I made an offer of $175.00 (his asking price was $227.00) and they seller excepted my offer." WHY would a legitimate shop/distributor take a 20% drop in price?

"The average price is $275.00 to $295.00 for a 256gb Sandisk and Lexar " Ask your self why people pay nearly double what you are for memory..... How come at that price Sandisk and Lexar are still in business?

"Pixalflash is lifetime warranty, could I got wrong to try it out?" You don't know the brand or the seller. If you buy Pixaflash from direct from Pixaflash or from an authorised distributor with premises then worth a try.... though probably with a smaller less expensive memory card first.

If you get fake cards then what "lifetime warranty"?
If it is a fake seller then what "lifetime warranty"?
