What has been your most valuable add-on for the T2i?

Currently I'm working with a Velbon DV-7000 and the T2i with Nikkor lenses without anything else.

#1: Magnifying loupe. Never take it off, night & day focusing difference and makes shooting in the sun possible.
#2: Fotodiox Nikon lens adapter
#3: Rails/matte box/ND/Follow focus with shoulder mount attachments. Form factor's a killer with these things. It never seemed like a "real" camera (for video) without that stuff.
#4: External HDMI monitor.
#5: 4x4 Polarizer.
#6: cheap eBay batteries - work just as well as Canon's.
#7: A roller case with enough room to pack the camera with FF & matte box & rails attached, without breaking anything down (except the french flags that is) - pop the quick release, drop it in the case, on to the next setup. That's just massive to me.

0. Magic Lantern
1. ND filters (tiffen screw-in; I sold my ND fader because the image was way too soft)
2. LCD loupe (DIY)

(this big gap means "great difference with next item...")

3. backpack with wheels (DIY foam, big enough for camera with lens, loupe, followfocus and hood all on, plus 4 extra lenses, a small led light, filters, and all the other small stuff
4. extra batteries (opteka, from ebay)
5. grip (phottix, from ebay)
6. cheap shoulder support
7. a bunch of quick release plates and adapters, all the same model, to move stuff around quickly
8. lights, umbrellas, stands, etc (this can go much higher on the list depending on what you're shooting)
9. H4n+shotgun, H1+lavalier mic (this can go much higher on the list depending on what you're shooting)
10. slider or dolly

if you're shooting solo, I don't think the followfocus is a must
if you can live with the pain of screw filters, the matte box can wait

Two questions:
-Why ND-Filters? I mostly have too shallow DOF with nikkors anyway.
-Which magnifying loups are there? (Will they work with glasses?) If they cost around 400$, why not going directly to a hdmi-monitor, given that the loupe probably only works with that camera and can't be used with the next?

@Rockmore:

As for the tripod:
The Velbon DV-7000 I like so far and would buy it again. It's at least much better, as what you would expect from it's pricepoint.

ND filters: in a studio, maybe you can adjust your lighting instead, but I find them totally indispensable in daylight (as in "I'd often have to shoot f/16or worse if I didn't have them")

loupe: cheesycam posted this today:

tripod: my cheap fluid-head tripod looked great at first... then it started to show how poorly it was constructed once my camera gained some weight... then revealed totally inadequate for supporting a slider

Magic Lantern is absolutely number 1 most valuable for me!

Secondly, I would invest in some lights...search the forums for some good advice on which to get. Good lighting is what will set you apart from the many people out there who just shoot wide open with nothing but available light. (I'm not trying to offend anyone...sometimes shooting in available light is necessary, I just prefer to light the scene if I have the option)

That fits into my price range. Ordered one.

Wouldn't recommend it for a slider at all. I have a Glideshot pipedolly, which was cheaper than a slider, but I guess much better.

It seems that Magic Lantern is the big hit. I have a 7D [No magic Lantern] I'm curious has anyone changed the Q-Factor and increased the data rate to 75Mb/s? Or at all? And if so, how big of a difference did it make? And what kind [brand] of memory card are you using?

I love ML, but never changed that Qscale setting, or used the manual gain

what I like are the custom cropmarks, point light meter, zebras, live histogram, etc

Beside Magic Lantern, I recommend the CAPA LCD viewfinder. At just $50 on ebay, it's too good to pass up. The build quality is excellent and the flocked velvet lining really cuts down on glare from the screen
