C100: What case or bag do you use with C100?

Hi,
I'm specing a C100 with Ninja 2, plus 2-3 lenses, cards, batteries, Wireless Mic system, etc and need a bag / case to keep it all safe in. I'd like to be able to keep the handle and my 17-55 lens attached in the case.

Unfortunately I can't try before I buy as where I live there are no shops / stores so I have to order online. :undecided

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Drew.

I carry it on all the time here in the US and have carried it on several international flights (China, Brazil, Singapore, Canada) but have yet to fly it to the UK. I've been told that it won't meet w8 restrictions for carry on luggage in EU but I don't know. I've yet to have anyone bother me about it.

I was in a similar situation and I went with the CineBags CB-25B Revolution.

I wanted to keep the side handle and my 24-105mm lens attached and the Revolution seemed to fit the bill.

The C100 top handle is under the Air Blower.

My Marshall 5" monitor is in the very top slot (you can see the sun hood).

The bigger pocket next to the monitor has my Light meter, Zoom H2, Lens Bag, Zoom H2 dead-cat.

The 2 pockets to the right of that have the charger and AC cable.

The battery pocket has 2x 12 AA Battery Holders (for the monitor) and then the 2x BP-970's on top.

My packing isn't very efficient so I'm sure you could pack more than I did. But I fit everything that I needed in there, and I still have a bunch of pockets on the outside that are empty.

It's also really comfortable, something I really didn't think of when I bought it, but I was happily surprised.

It also, according to the CineBags website, meets carry on specs.

I just got the Kata flyby 77 and it's a great bag!! C100 fits in there nicely (without the handle) with tons of other stuff. Big plus with this, 70-200 can fit upright which was a must for me, as i carry 2 in my kit. The handle only takes 10 seconds to attach anyhow, so I don't see that it's a big deal for me to store in next to the C100 detached

If you don't mind removing baseplates and top handles the 1510 is great and the hard case gives me security. I can always carry on normal flights, sometimes in regional jets they will make you gate check and that's usually when I start hanging cameras and lenses off my body...

I need a case for the C300 but I want the handle to stay attached. I just want to grab it and go with a couple of lenses. Any suggestions for that type of case? It has to be deep.

Check these out from PortaBrace. I think I found my case. Camera with a rig can fit in them. Nice

This is a nice cut out ATA and Pelican cases for the C300.

Eric-
Thanks for the plug...In the custom Pelican 1510, we have the c300 case, the 6 lens/double cut lens case (for both EF & CPs), and the new C100 case:

along with or C300 hard case:

They all have been selling very well and we just added one for the TV logic 5.6 monitor ($149.95) not on the site yet but should be up soon!

Jim I like the cases for travel they would be perfect however I'm looking for a soft bag that I can keep the camera fully assembled in. Just want to grab it and go. Any recommendations? both cameras are tall with the handle and the C300's LCD on top.

its my case, lowepro x200

c100, 6 lens, 3 batteries, 1 shotgun, 1 audio recorder, 1 light, 1 smallhd DP6, one softbox, one head

all accessories are in there (chargers, cables etc)

lol you wouldnt believe how much time I spent to sort them inside this bag.

but again, you need to disassemble c100

its just a giant camera if you put the top handle on

The ThinkTank Airport take off bag could work just fine...it's got the velcro dividers that you can customize, carry-on size, wheels & handle, and back pak straps.....on of the most popular ones we have:

Eric - I've got a TT Airport Take Off - Going to attempt to reconfigure to fit my C100 plus GH3 this weekend. Not a case you can drop the cam straight down in with handle, though. Sideways? Possible.

Same issues for me re leaving the handle on - I just don't have time during a busy shooting schedule in multiple locations. My Kata CC-197 works OK - when I've got a mo, I'm going to re-jig, so the camera sits in the centre, so it slips in and out even more easily (fnah fnah.)

What I don't like about Kata is that they've ceased production of their Modi-Vers dividers, so customising is not as easy as it was. However, the UK importer has just sent me a bunch of spare dividers, so I'll butcher those and make it work one way or another. Height is absolutely fine - gives you 3cm or so of clearance above the top of the handle, with padded ceiling above, and the top panels are reinforced with aluminium bracing, so you can put other bags on top and it would take a lot of weight to start pressing down on your camera. Kata also do "One Man Band" bags, which have good vertical clearance. I think you're much better served in the USA with Kata - they're an American company. I think the quality of their stuff is top notch and I have 3 of their bags.

Ben.

I have the CC-193 and the C300 does fit with the handle/LCD attached. I like the bag. I just need another one that's a little bigger and this one looks like it is longer. Thanks
