I was just wondering what settings I should use on the Xh A1 when I have a TV on in the shot. Right now it sort of divides the tv into thirds from top to bottom with the different areas flickering all weird.
Frame rate and shutter angle are independent... On the A1, the shutter speed is the little dial on the left side of the camera (from operator's perspective) under the AF/M switch.
Word of warning: if you're shooting at 1/48 on everything else, it'll look slightly different, but probably better than having the TV screen all flickery.
If you do not have anny shutter options, I had good results filming a LCD screen. It did not flicker as much as a tv or computer screen, so maby you can try that out...
here's a link to a video of mine where i film my TV screen while zooming in (along with playing with Vegas' TV simulator in other parts)...but the shot of my TV in the beginning is the camera only. i'm on 24f, 1/60 shutter, and all i got was a single line of interference...not too bad though. A1 also has a function called Clear Scan...it's just above 1/15,000 in your shutter settings. it's specifically for shooting screens...hope that helps.
