This guy is pretty easy to identify. He's not very smart in his attempted scams. Anyone with half a brain should be able to smell something is fishy with him. If you encounter him (or think you have), please contact me immediately on the down low. PM Jason Ramsey

From newcelica.org:

Joseph Dono (Mazzuca)

Scams:

1) misrepresented the items he sent (i.e. broken)
2) tries to sell stuff he doesn't have (tool chests, rolexs, etc.)
3) pays you with paypal and then files for unauthorized use of said account.
4) using stolen credit card numbers (pretending to be those other people).
5) signed up under different SN's to give himself a positive trader rating, and to vouch for him.
6) pretends to be a lawyer, or threatens frivolous lawsuits.

His Celica car shop scam:
http://www.newcelica.org/forums/showthread.php?p=4391718

I have been working on Joe Dono's car for approximately 4 1/2 months.

The car was completely redone. Complete repaint including engine bay and pulling all glass and seals, smoothing out the interior panels and two toning them, building a custom sub enclosure and covering it in carbon fiber, custom amp racks and nitrous bottle brackets, carbon overlays on the roof and hatch, turbo install, e-manage install, custom fiberglass center console to mount gauges in, just a lot of work in general.

He showed up to pick his car up yesterday, Saturday August 9th, and was apparently planning on stealing his car without paying for anything.
He told us to have the car washed and ready to go outside.

His mother, who actually is the co-signer with his grandmother for the car, was under the impression that Joe had paid for materials and that he had "sponsors" that were paying JAP Works to do the labor. She wanted to know why the car was taking so long because Joe had told her it was just getting painted. In reality he did not cover material cost and was promising to bring the very large balance in cash when the car was picked up so as not to worry about checks clearing and the like.

I'm really not sure what was going through his head thinking he was going to get the car completely modified and knowing he has NO money to pay for it.

His girlfriend offered us $60 and wanted to know if we could set-up a payment plan.
SERIOUSLY?
His bill is close to $16K and he wants a payment plan.

I'm sure plenty of you have either dealt with him or heard about him. He's a detailer by trade but apparently he has no self-worth and has no problem lying and deceiving anyone and everyone.

We've banned many of his accounts on here, but he continues to sign back up and try to sell/trade his stuff on here. Craigslist and ebay seem like great alternatives, but he keeps coming back here.

Like I said, do what you want with this information. I'm just posting it b/c the other threads all have his banned SN's in the title, and new members will just look at the title and think nothing of it.

Anyways, here's some information. Nothing really new. I just consolidated all the information from the previous threads. Use it to make a decision for yourself.

I wanted to copy this post over here for anyone impacted by this moron. Search google for a few minutes and you'll get a paper trail a mile long on this guy.

If anyone has had any alleged bad dealings with this guy, I would recommend that you all get together and combine your resources and info/proof and contact law enforcement. Guy has a record, so...

I will gladly cooperate with any request for information from law enforcement.

later,
Jason

Thanks Jason!
Cars, cameras, cells; looks like he scams 'em all.
Yes, can you make it a sticky?
Thanks Philip.

Well, Joseph Dono kept his nose cleaned for a while(Maybe, do not know if he scammed between this and now) But he went back to being a thief.

He scammed me...Even through PayPal(Never trust them again!). $1200.00 I paid via paypal for a mac book laptop. He sent me a Ibook G4 with a burnt out battery...Maybe worth $200.00.

I have already filed police reports, and my local Detective has spoken with Detective Gomes, and has confirmed that he will be arrested and charged with many charges(Some including: Computer crimes, theft by deception, mail fraud..And more).

It has been a while, and no word from my Police Department, or the Hernando Police Department.

This kid(Adult physically) has not learned a thing. He scammed all of these people and returned the next year to restart his deceitful career again. I luckily bumped into these threads not long after being scammed, and showed them to my Detective.

Gomes still remembers him...

I will post this in all of the threads about this Kid, so that everyone is updated.

He has a new account on here TeamUSTA...Here are some links to the thread he scammed me on:

http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=2086380

Here is his account on here(Not sure why he is not banned, I reported him?):

I would appreciate it if someone could PM me the case #'s opened against Joseph Dono, so that i may use them as reference when I call them personally this week to find out where everything is at.

Thanks in advance,

Ray

I second that. Duplicate threads, slight hassle. Getting scammed, major pain in the arse. I almost bought a letus from this guy a few weeks back. I asked him a few questions about the optimization kit and it was clear pretty fast he either A) knew nothing about the gear or B) was a scammer. Glad I assumed B.

Unfortunately he DOES get away with it sometimes, hammer away enough til you find a weak spot, you know?

One DVXuser did get scammed and contacted me about getting in touch with Dono's (the scammer) Sheriff's office, which had charged him on a previous case.

One of his MANY scams (how many pages do you want to read? lol!) is stealing copyrighted pictures off Flickr, including from a LAWYER on Flickr, see this:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/tom_vac/2753898979/

It wouldn't surprise me if he steals stills from sites like DVXuser (or others) of gear, then posts the pics as being HIS gear for sale!!!

I probably wouldn't be spending quite as much time researching and posting info on this lowlife (although I do despise scammers and con artists, I used to work with an Investigative News unit), but I blew my back out and am in bed not working (as if the economy's not bad enough).

And the thing is, no matter how much you find on this guy, THERE'S ALWAYS MORE!!!

He's a one man scam industry!!! :banned:
