Hello, the company I work for has just developed a video production department that I am going to be running. So, I am wondering if anyone has a SteadyCam for sale that will hold a Sony HVR-Z1U + shotgun mic for now. I am also trying to get my hands on a M2 Cinema Lens Adapter (HD Edition). I need a steadycam that will support my camera AND the M2. If anyone has either of these items for sale, please let me know! Thank you very much!

First off; it's "Steadicam" with an i

How do you plan to pull focus on your 35mm lenses when you are shooting with the Steadicam?

Thanks for the heads up man. I'll make sure that from now on I spell it the correct way.

Well, I helped out on a music video that was using a steadIcam with the M2 and they just had a guy pulling focus for the steadIcam operator. I am new to the whole steadIcam and M2 world and just trying to learn more about it all and hopefully purchase these itmes.

You will find that it is impossible to manually focus a 35mm lens during a steadicam shot, as any touching of the lens will throw off the rig. You will need a remote controlled focus system. realistically this needs to be Radio FF.

A good basic unit is the BFD (www.bartechengineering.com) and some motor to go with it.

I see what you're saying.

I checked out the remote focus thing you said to check out and it's a bit too pricey for a guy like myself, but that obviously would be the way to go. I don't even know if I'll end up getting the M2 anytime soon, so it probably doesn't even matter. I would like to get a steadicam though so I can achieve super smooth "handheld" shots. Thanks for your help with this, I really appreciate it.
