I read that on Cameraquest, the date is 23 May today, if I put my order in now there is no guarantee what the price will be when it arrives .... so what's your point?

This is not price gouging, he has the right to sell the Nokton at any price.
 
The voigt isnt that hard to find...I bought one recently from germany for 665 euros.

As for the upcoming panny f1.4...going by panasonics reputation with prices on their lenses (and the four thirds versions hiked price) I expect it to be pretty expensive...probably around the same as the 25mm f0.95

Voigts awesome btw...worth every penny.

Were did I say it's price gouging ? That quote is from his website (cut&paste) and I agree he has the right to sell the Nokton at any price.

Since they are from a German company you may have better luck looking for it in Europe... which of course sucks for you since you're on USD... that's the price you're gonna pay for it. Expensive in USD, normal price for the rest of us.

I live in Germany but ordered from France as they sell it for Voigtländer's original price which is 750€ ($1050). In Germany, normal price in stores is minimum 899€ ($1260).

Btw, doesn't Voigtländer belong to Cosina since a few years?

Yep the lenses are made in japan ....And france is the cheapest place to get one from! ;-)
 
not sure if you can receive it overseas though....
Don't forget that you can have free delivery if you buy for 50 000 euros (that seems a bargain lol)
