GH2 Voigtländer Nokton 25mm f/0.95 price now $1,299.99 !

Now that's a very good price there, if and when it comes in stock. We got one of the first shipments and it was 900 bucks.... I think other manufacturers should look at the frenzy over this lens and make something to compete with this. I'd love to get a 14mm F1.8 or F2. What a killer lens that would be and I don't need any auto focus or anything like that...

It is available on ebay for around $1,300 from most sellers so show me a link to the best deal available and tell me why this is an unnecessarily hysterical thread title.

Here's a deal for $1,250. Better?

The link you quoted was for a product that's not available from them right now so your response is meaningless. I gave you a link which right now is also meaningless, but has a better chance of being closer to the truth when there is good availability.

The prices on eBay are inflated because of lack of availability and is a common phenomenon in these cases. Your title and link made it sound as if that is the manufacturer's price, which it is obviously not. That's why I called you out on it. If you had said something along the lines of "inflated prices on eBay" I would have no argument.

But there's no news in that, so you do a Fox type headline.

And why is it important? You waste people's time who will click on it, as I did, thinking the manufacturer had raised the price, which would have been a totally newsworthy story.

So, nothing to see here.

Even GH2s are on ebay for 300 bucks more than Pana direct is selling them - ebay is inflated. Why people buy through them is beyond me.

Unless of course it's an international thing.

yeah, ebay rips sellers so they can't compete with outside vendors anymore. I remember when you could find great deals on ebay fairly easily, now you can barely find retail value.

$1,250 + $50 shipping from Hong Kong = $1,300. So how is that better than $1,300 ?

So place your deposit with cameraquest in CA for $1099 and hope he does not follow suit. it's a free market.

EFFECTIVE May 16th: Deposits placed after May 15th get you on the 25/.95 waiting list, but do NOT guarantee the future price at the time of shipping - which may or may not be the same.
The new Voigtlander 25/.95's will likely be in short supply for the foreseeable future. Cosina Voigtlander seems to have hit a nerve with customer demand, as orders to the factory far exceeded the first production run. Cosina was only able to fill half of my initial 25/.95 order. I estimate 25/.95 back orders will probably extend at least throughout the summer.

I don't know what it is but I cannot believe the prices people are paying for used lenses. I have benefited when I sell on e-bay but there are no deals to be had anymore.
I find that the large retaliers prices are not that much more than buying used. And now many of the retailers offer free shipping.

According to 43rumors website http://www.43rumors.com/
"Yesterday we told you that Panasonic would announce the new Panasonic-Leica 25mm f/1.4 Micro Four Thirds lens in June."

The LUMIX 20MM 1.7 is pretty sharp. I wonder how much sharper/better (more expensive) a 25 1.4 from Leica would be?

What I want is a 10MM f/1 lens LOL.....OK I would settle for f/2
