Video2/BNC Video Out...can someone explain what this is?

I have owned this camera since May, and page 99 of the manual is the closest I can get to an explination of what the BNC/Video2 output jack is, yet it left me still not knowing. what is this for, and is it better or worse than the component video out? I've read about BNC outputs for live projections, but i'm looking for clarification here. thanks!

That BNC connector is a live output of the Composite video coming out of the camera. Being composite means that it is standard def and therefore not as high of quality as the Component Video out.

Also the little switch above the yellow Video 1 output labeled A/V1 - V2 controls which video output composite goes to. push the switch up and out to the bnc it goes.

I use a BNC to RCA adapter for running a quick monitor. no hi-def but can be good for a quick director look.
