Hi, I make some music video myself in belgium, and i was wondering how do they make slow motion in rap music videos?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-rqu-hjobc like in this video there is slow motion everywhere but the video is available on youtube in 1080p, so i deduce that it was not filmed in 50fps and 720p, am i right? or if they scale up the footage will they loose a lot of quality?

or

did they use twixtor to make the slow motion? so they must film at a very high shutter to avoid problem with the footage, i suppose?

Ps: sorry for my bad english

Recording at 720p50 and then conforming to 1080p25 is pretty common. Yes, you'll lose a little resolution... but it's not going to destroy your project. Especially if it is destined for Internet distribution, it's not going to be a big issue.

That gives you a very smooth, 50% slow-mo. If you need more than that, then you can take it into Twixtor or (if you have Final Cut) Motion and retime it.
