Using XL1/2 Lens on a 7D??

Good evening to all,

Possibly a silly question,
And very much a newb one,
but does anyone know if it would be possible to mount the Stock Zoom lens from a Canon XL1s onto the 7D (via a cheap adaptor)?
 
Hi fifthblade,

The Canon XL1s uses a 1/3" CCD which presents two potential problems for use on the 7D.

First, the sensor is much much smaller than the sensor used in the 7D, which means using the XL1s stock lens will vignette massively.

Second, I don't believe there are any adapters for XL mount to EOS mount...probably because of the vignetting problem.

In my opinion, the stock lens from the XL1s lens could not be mounted on the 7D (within a reasonable budget).
