Using the MAC P2CMS Sticky - problem with FCP

Hello Users,
I followed Barry's sticky post on the MAC and the P2CMS process for P2 cards, did the export to a folder on my MAC. FCP could not import the files, I got an error saying it could not read the files. I tried to import the "CONTENTS" folder directly from FCP. I get the message "File Error: 4 files recognized, 0 access denied, 5 unknown" I was using a MAC desktop computer (dual core intel G5). I had the camera connected to the computer via firewire, and write prot both cards.
The 2 "NONAME" disks (the cards) were showing on my desktop, and I exported, following Barry's procedure. One difference, I selected only two clips from the many that were on the card. I did not select all the clips.

Any ideas on this?

thanks,

Don't know whether this will affect the answer you get, but you say you have a dual core intel G5.
The dual core intel is a different chip than the G5, which is PowerPC. Can you clarify which you have? I think you should be able to ingest using either, but some functions of P2CMS require an intel processor.

My MAC - and P2CMS

My MAC - and P2CMS

Hello,

My system is the newer G5, which uses the Intel chip.
I downloaded the version for the Intel chip, I think.
But now I will have to go back and double check.

I do know the version number (from Panasonic) is 1.4

Thanks,

Are you using an Intel Mac or G5 PPC?

They are different.

Have you just tried a Finder copy to a HDD or the desktop and imported that?

Also, it's "Mac," not "MAC."
