Ha ! Ha ! You are right, but I don't think you want your dollar to go as low as we were few years back and call it American Peso. ; )

Funny as thing change fast, about a year and a half from now, I put a link on a film about the end of the American Suburb as it is, because of the gaz crisis and big cars in America, I don't remember the film name, it was from a Canadian. Member here were laughing at it, saying there is still so much gaz on the planet...price of the gaz has double since a year. Things can change very fast. ; )

the real question is: should I open a US account and start speculating in US currency now or wait till it drops further? does anyone have a time machine so they can go forward a year and tell me what the exchange rate is at that time? I'd really like to know.

I have some American dollar on my Paypal account since few months, may be I'm better to exchange them now before I loose to much again...it's not a joke.

You don't need to open a US account, just start trading with any of the forex firms that have opened up over the past few years. I wouldn't expect to see the US peso going up in value anytime soon. The goal right now is to get everybody to spend like crazy for the holidays, before the layoffs start on Christmas eve. Happy Holidays!

I already live here. I bought the property with US dollars for my mother in law, which is why I've made money just on the currency exchange.

The Canadian Dollar today closed at 1.0704 to the US dollar. This means since March of this year when our dollar was only .85 cents to the Us dollar, my "delayed" Red Camera package which is a total of $52,500 USD with all the goodies is as of today $11,246 dollars cheaper. Analysts predict our dollar could hit 1.15 by Christmas. Go Loonie Go!!!

Yeah I kinda wish that the USD would bump up. Makes it easier to get bike parts cheep from yall up north !

Just checked.

The exchange rate will widen further in your favor, but the radiation levels will render the issue pretty moot.

Some loose, some win. Good thing for you it's delayed since March, but how much money you will have won since March with the camera in your hands.

When the Amero comes out it will ALL even out.

maybe now canadians will finally realize that NAFTA only profits the US and noone else.

*not impressed*

Profits the US? What? You mean because we can get tube socks for $1.99? No it profits a relatively small portion of people in the US... unless somebody is really into tube socks. I'd rather keep my $35/hr job building cars and pay $4.99 for tube socks... then have to get a $11/hr job at Home Depot 'cause Ford moved to Mexico.

NAFTA and things like that work like a hedge fund for the top tier of corporations... yes these things bring new wealth into wherever the factory goes... but at a dramatically lower cost to the corporation over all. It's the simplest math, but people act like it's a complex issue.

Everybody got sold a bill of goods called Trickle-Down Economics... but it's being proven that it's actually Trickle-UP Poverty. The people who were supposedly going to trickle-it-down got a leak-proof pool instead. :cheesy:
