I don't have an AF100, but I have a friend who's about to shoot a TV series with two of them.
It appears that the default setting for Detail is somewhat jacked up. What would be a good setting to get a a good natural look? Not too soft, not too sharp... just right.
Though this is a rare anomaly, I agree with Shooter. If you want a “TV look” I would still go with Barry Green’s suggested setting but maybe shoot with an HD norm gamma instead of Cine-Like V. But for the love of everything that is good, never shoot with the cine-like matrix; go with norm2 unless you like your image to filled with noise.
totally agree with -4 or -5 no discernible difference from 0 on the detail that matters but huge dif on the noise. Couldn't agree more with kindredmachine, Cine-like matrix im convinced is the single thing that is making everyone poop their pants about AF100 noise. Once you forget that exists the AF100 starts to shine again. You can shoot ISO1600 comfortably in my opinion...
Thanks you all for the replies. They were helpful. Shooting is underway. Sometimes productions come together in a whirlpool of chaos, and there isn't time for the personel to do proper testing. That's why the people here at DVXuser are such a valuable resource.
