Or maybe it does. This morning, Bloomberg is quoting sources that, unless a lot of leases are extended, the used car glut will come sometime in the fall.... Car industry is more public with their numbers. The sales were down 35% in March but a lot of production plants were shut down as well. Total sales are expected to be down about 12% for the year but this doesn't mean a huge excess of inventory.
It's going to be a great time to buy many things as this progresses. If you need a new car, hang on for a while as predicted by Bloomberg. I bought a new car at the end of 2008. They were so desperate they gave the car away and included a lifetime bumper to bumper warranty. Poor saps didn't realize I keep my cars for 20 years or more. Those sorts of deals may return later this year.
Other products will also have some great deals as this goes on. If you have cash laying around or still have cash flow, it will soon be time to get those things you've been wanting. I've got bids on a few things on ebay that are already at stupid low prices with no competition. One item I'm bidding on is about 1/20th of new price with no one bidding against me. I'm thinking it's so low, the auction will be pulled before it ends.
