Update 60d Firmware directly from 1.0.5 to 1.0.9?

Please put me down as the third person to ask for the 60d ml on 5d2.. I much much prefer it.

Graphical bugs seem to have been sorted by using auto start however I don't like that I can't see the stock exposure meter like (i think) you can on 60d..

I strongly dislike the magic circles on 5d2 (especially the fact that I can't disable them even when setting them as inactive in the menu) I.don't really understand how they help focus either.. I find it much easier to use the stock 5x and 10x zoom in. the 60d focus assist really convinced me to buy a 5d2. I love it. Please port it over!

I can't work out how to actually adjust audio levels either with the exception of just changing the gain levels... Im not sure how to launch the audio levels tips file either? It seems the guide is simple to understand and looks pretty but seems to be aimed at people who have used ml for years and no good for people like me who are new to it. Again, unlike the 60d version.

Oh and I'm not scathing something that is free and great, dont get me wrong I'm very greatful its just after a £1600 investment based almost entirely on my 60d experience I'm now left feeling very disappointed

Hmmm no auto resume after 12min record limit? No option to turn the lcd screen off? Have I missed a menu our something?

I notice its possible to gery ML classic for 2.0.8 and AJ for 2.0.9. Is it possible to downgrade from 2.0.9 to 2.0.8 so that I csm install the classic, and if so is that more like the 60s version?

I would lend you mine but I doubt that you are near by.. I can't afford to buy you one, I just wasted all of my money on a 5d2 :(

no way to adjust zebra values in the 5d version? Again.. i must just be missing a menu.. could you explain how to do this?

From AJ's code, the thresholds are hardcoded in the assembly code, so you can't change them.

Code:
" CMP r14, #(0xFD<<8)\n" // 0xFA = Over exposure limit of 254
" CMP r14, #(0x03<<8)\n" // 0x05 = Under exposure limit of 02 " BLO ZEB3_UnderExposedPix1a\n" //

or adjust audio levels without applying a db gain and watching the meters to see what that brings your volume up to? Seems a hell of a lot simpler in the unified version...

How is the audio adjustment different in the unified version? I adjust audio levels in the same way (change analog gain and watch the meters).

i usually adjust audio level in the standard menu, but maybe 5d doesnt have that as it doesnt have video mode.

Alex I have a major problem.. my 60d is stuck saying "update file cannot be found. Please check the memory card and reload the battery and try again"

it says this with a freshly formatted (PC formatted or camera formatted) card and also when there is no card in there at all. Even when the camera is switched off...

The only way I can get the camera to work is to copy the ML files onto the card. When I insert it into the camera then (in the off position) the firmware update message flashes up, I get no green confirmation screen but when I turn cam on ML seems to be installed and working.

I'm worried as using it for a wedding tomorrow and don't want it to be unreliable, but clearly I've mucked up the installation somewhere... please help

I also now have 1x 8gb card that just freezes on the updating firmware screen and I have to battery pull. I've tried putting the card in with and without the ML files on and also without the cfg file which I've been copying across from card to card.

Oh, I'm also seeing a flickering on the outer edges of my LCD which doesn't seem to be recording but is visible on the screen..

I think I want to just remove ML 100% and not risk it again, I thought loading with shutter pushed would do this but nothing is working for me at the moment...

i appreciate your quick reply. I can't get into the stock canon menus in order to put canon firmware on the camera though. Is the 28th august a newer version with a specific fix for this issue or just other fixes? When I copy it to the card it just hangs on the "firmware update program - loading" screen, the same as it did with the other version

Freezing at "loading" screen happens if the card is not formatted from the camera.

August28 has a specific fix for this issue.

Boot the camera with ML and format the card from the camera. Copy the FIR again (either Canon or ML aug28, whatever you trust more :P ) and let it fix the problem.

have sent you a PM alex, I'm just making more and more cards unreadable here. Just lost another 16GB after booting with shutter half pushed (this was a previously loaded ML card that was working) got to the standard camera menus, selected format card and now when I turn it on I get the hanging screen.

After formatting the card from the camera, put Canon's FIR on the root of the SD card. After you have the FIR on the card, start the camera (not before).
