I'm still clueless on the advantage of global shutter despite reading up on it!
I considered waiting for the GH4 (I was a fan of the GH13 when it all kicked off but soon grew tired of it's limitations which I'm sure are fixed on the GH4) but I don't think 4k will be in demand from my clients until there are loads of 4k cameras available (probably including full frame) so I'm not too fussed about that.
Is there a reason why somebody wouldn't use a 128gb card as the backup in slot 2 instead of a 64? I just added up a recent wedding on the mkiii and it totalled 60gb from one camera so don't want to come close to it and end up filling up the backup card. However having typed that, if the c100 gets 2.5hrs per 16gb card then I suppose there's not much chance of going over 64gb on a wedding if I currently shoot 60-70gb in a day on the mkiii, right?
I've heard philip bloom mention a firmware upgrade might make the punch in to zoom feature better by allowing you to move the square around the screen to check focus without moving the camera (something I often used to do on magic lantern on the mkii) I don't suppose this has happened yet has it? That would be yet another advantage to add to the list..
I've watched Joe Simon's film on the AF upgrade and it looks pretty amazing IF I've understood it right.. the one touch AF doesn't interest me too much, I don't think the square in the center is small enough to use this reliably on narrow dof but if continuous AF reall is continuous even on f1.4/f1.8 it would be remarkable, but I just can't see how this would be reliable. I'd probably only really use it for glidecam shots but it would be a massive help if it did what I hope it does..
