TV Logic VFM-056 5.6" HD LCD Monitor Group Buy

So I have been using the TV Logic for a few days now and it's a pretty solid performer. I was renting the 5" Marshall while the TV Logic was still on route. I have to admit, but I miss the 4 dedicated user buttons on the front of the Marshall. The TV Logic only has one. They actually could have designed another user button for the wheel. Right now the wheel is not assignable. I realize the wheel controls work when it's actually pressed (brightness, contrast, etc...) As for the main user button, it's easy enough to get to most of the functions. The false color command is pretty awesome though.

I have this same complaint on both the TV Logic and the smallHD. The smallHD has 2 buttons and a wheel with a button built into it. However, I really want at least 4 user assignable buttons. I use 1:1 zoom, false color and focus assist, but I can only chose 2 of them. Then when they add waveforms, I'll be going in and out of the menus then and that will not be that great.

At least you can assign two buttons instead of one! :) I was so suprised to learn this. The wheel should scrub through 4 or 5 user favorites.

is this deal still available or am I too late..?

Pretty sure it is, just ordered one this past week, delivering on Tuesday. Must say this is one of the easiest equipment purchases I've made in a while, with all those features it certainly seems like quite a deal.

Nyvz, glad you like the monitor, I've been shooting with ours a lot, really a nice addition to the AF100 work flow.
Yes, deal still available. Can't hurt to check with your local TV Logic dealers to see if they'll match.

I'm amazed how long a Panasonic battery runs this monitor!

Latest, direct from the factory:

I will ask R&D to add a Anamorphic aspect ratio support next time revision firmware..

TVLogic will add Canon Battery(5D) bracket option shortly.. around end of Feb. or early Mar. but we cannot find a 3rd party for AF100 battery bracket in the market.. I am not sure TVLogic can provide this Battery Bracket.

Regarding the Vector, we're working on Vector 2x gain feature now.

I will help them with an AF100/HMC150 source. This should not be a problem. I think it's cool that the DVX User Forum is pushing TV Logic to make the most out of this monitor, just as we have with Panasonic on various cameras over the years!

Any word on a battery bracket for the TVLogic monitor that uses the Panasonic AF100/HMC150 batteries? I bought the monitor from FilmTools recently and love it on my AF100, but am currently powering it via AB battery and D-tap adaptor (Olof down-converted the voltage for me when he built my shoulder rig). However, I'd prefer to use the AF100 Panny batteries with the monitor, as opposed to using older HVX200 batteries (of which I currently own NONE). Fewer battery systems to manage = fewer headaches!

is it impossible to avoid sales tax in CA?
the sales tax brings the cost almost back to the original price
I might as well order from out of state at full price and it won't be much difference

Just received my TV Logic VFM-056WP today, and got to play with it very briefly on my 7D and my new GH2, works great with both. This monitor is amazing, the features just never seem to end, it took me a while to try them all out... still seems like this monitor would still be a competitor for twice the price I paid, but I'm so glad it's priced it as accessibly as it is.

Anyone know what the standard is for the 12v DC input barrel connector? I have a bunch of ebay batteries and a $200 HDMI monitor that seem to use a common connector that looks like it would be the same as the TVlogic's, but it seems like the inner diameter of my cables is just slightly too small so they don't plug in even with a little pushing. I havent found documentation of the dimensions of this plug anywhere, anyone have an idea? worst case I suppose I can take it to radioshack and figure out what ends I need and build an adapter cable.

What is the running time by using the AA battery bracket ?

I wish they had the alternative of a thin battery and bracket like DP6 has . The only matter that troubles me.

that was exactly my only tradeoff for getting the TV Logic over the small HD, but I may just order the AA battery bracket for times when I need to use it on the steadicam

I asked Aaron from filmtools about how long the monitor will last with AA batteries and I he said a few hours and not all day like the other ones like sony, pany, and canon
if you use Eneloops, I'm sure the AAs will last at least 4-5 hours
