TRON Legacy

Wow, you lose hope easy.

FWIW I'm working with an Art Director who was on it and he's still optimistic...

...and you know the Art Department is the most pessimistic of all departments...

Maybe it happens more behind the scenes than I'm aware, but I have never seen a case where a film was as far along as TRON, needed big outside help, and didn't blow. These kind of problems are baked into the structure of the thing and not solved in the last minute. Unless you are the Epstein brothers, of course.

Disney's been leaning on Pixar for a long, long time. Lasseter and Bird should have been involved in another very recent live-action mouse house outing.

Couldn't have made it worse and Iger wouldn't have been left wondering out loud, "...we just don't know what went wrong." Yeah, buddy, that was better left as an inside thought.

New Trailer. Not buying the young Jeff Bridges CGI effect. It's almost convincing but doesn't quite traverse the uncanny valley. Just feels creepy. Everything else looks fairly cool but I think it could go either way still.

Is it supposed to look completely convincing?

I think the young Jeff Bridges character is supposed to be an evil computer program, so maybe they want it to look slightly creepy.

No, because it's also in the opening scene when he's talking to his young son in reality. It's a quick shot but if you inspect it slowly you can see it's got the same, creepy feel.

You know, there's a reason we do quick shots of stuff. So that it can't be inspected slowly.

%^&#*@! frame-advance technology...

Go inspect any VFX-heavy film frame-by-frame and you can destroy the illusion of anything.

Okay, I take that back...maybe not BladeRunner.
