TRON Legacy

Hell. Yes.

This is the first time I'm excited for 3D. Plus, I'll be living somewhere by then where I'll probably get to see it in 3D.

Looks cool...my only minor quibble is that the one thing I found cool about the TRON lightcycles is that you turn at a complete 90 degree angle, something impossible to do in reality. These operated more like traditional bikes. Anyway, I don't think this is from the actual movie. I believe this was a proof of concept done by the director to help him get the job, and the Jeff Bridges footage was lifted from another movie. I could be wrong, though.

Man this is the type of stuff they should be making. Mind you it's yet another re-make, but hey, it looks original and really interesting nonetheless.

Actually I believe it's a sequel from the 1987 I think. It's working title before they got Legacy is TRON 2.0 (but probably not related to the first one at all, more a reboot I bet)

I just saw this teaser last night

Wow. I'm digging it. I remember seeing the original in the theatre; vastl;y underrated film.

The lightcycles turned at a 90 while on the grid... and operated like normal motorcycles once off.

:)

They should have asked me for some ideas... I'd have had the light wall drift out... and "snap" into a 90... just on the sharper corners. That could have added another interesting element to these renders... with the light walls continuously snapping into 90's like digital ice(tm) freezing from the flowing wall. If you've ever heard the ice on a lake popping beneath you... there's your sound effect for the visual effect... with a little cavernous reverb up to a sharp snap as the wall freezes in position.

As a visual director... I'd have also suggested that the max sharp turns which created the 90's... were violently jolting for the lightcycle pilot (showing a sharp turn, to slight rear slide, to regained traction making an ultra-sharp turn...) as the wall "drifts" and freezes into the perfect 90 on the grid.

I've never seen tron before, and since I'm a sci-fi fan, after seeing this I decided to watch it today. It's pretty fun. Kind of silly with lots of plot holes and unrealistic characters (the real ones), but fun nonetheless.

This trailer looks far more interesting though. Also the description sounds like it's a sequel. It's Flynn's son. He tries to investigate his father's disappearance, and gets sucked into the computer world.

Meh. Electrons behaving according to Newtonian Laws of Motion? Someone forgot to read their Bohr...

...another entrant in the let's avoid doing anything original cavalcade.

On the bright side it keeps people employed.

Sniff, Sniff, methinks I smell some turd-burger on the grill....this trailer makes it look supremely uninteresting.

I couldn't get through the first TRON. This looks more ADHD compliant. However, I don't think I'll be seeing this in 3D. I'm so done with 3D it gives me migraines.

Here's a better link...I don't know. Something about this seems sci-fi channel-ish. The image doesn't look like it's been color graded or something. And the kid's performance doesn't excite me. Just seems off to me--

I'm having a different reaction to it. I don't know what you mean by sci-fi channel-ish (since I don't have the sci-fi channel, or are you talking about a specific show?). However, I really enjoyed the teaser and this trailer. It feels right to me. It's got a certain very sleek grittiness (which sound contradictory), the colours looks nice, the designs look great, the feel, the performances to me feel dead on.

I'm liking it so far. I think it's well cast from the trailer.

But that's just me.

Looks cool... saw the trailer in 3D at Alice last weekend. The aspect ratio changes from real world to virtual world, and the real word is 2D while the virtual world is 3D. Made for quite an impact for me.

It's just the first part of the trailer, has a shot on the backlot, 2nd rate actor feel. Everything in the TRON universe looks good, and you can't go wrong with Olivia Wilde in a skin tight anything.
