Tripod question

Hello all!

I havenl;t posted here in awhile, been busy, but I was wondering:
Could you guys give me some prices on decent tripods? Panning is pretty important, so I don;t want just a crappy one that will hold the camera.
My budget is a little under 300$

I really can not comment on $300 tripods. I just picked up a Miller 30 head and tripod, an almost $2000.00 combo, for $500.00 from a local listing on Craigslist.com. Trust me, I understand having little money to buy gear with, but the last place to skimp, IMHO, is with a good fluid head and tripod. I would try to get a little bit more cash, at least, and look around for a good one one the used market. A good tripod and head is a long term investment. A good one will serve you well, for a long time.

Russ: Yes. tripod and head
Brandon: That looks good, great reviews. It's definately a contender
David: I'm not 'skimping' on it per se. but I need a tripod and only have 300$

You can get some Manfrotto systems from B&H for under 300 that support 13 lbs or less.

I'm not too sure how the heads on them are, but they look pretty good for the price. Also you might want to look at ebay or craigslist. If you're in the Hollywood area, someone stole my Cartoni F102 out of my friend's car 6 or so months ago. I'm sure whoever did is probably going to sell it about now, now that I've stopped looking for it :P . You might be able to get a cheap price if they don't know what it is. Hahaha.
