Transformers 3 (Michigan Avenue, Chicago)

They closed my road down Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I forgot to bring my camera to work Friday but I came on Sunday and shot out the window. Not much happened and I missed the explosion because I was filming Sam Witwicky through the front door while he sat outside waiting for the explosion to happen. If you look to the right of the frame when Sam Witwicky is on the left, you can see the reflection of a fireball.

It was cool to see the Magnificent Mile totally trashed and in flames.

Shooting through the window made a weird ghosting effect but you can't really notice it unless you go full screen.

They moved the mayhem to Wacker Drive which is just around the corner (and still making me late for work).

Looks like the Chicago I remember from living there twelve years ago. They didn't have to do much to Michigan Avenue to dress it for shooting at least. :D

Thats funny. I have only been here for a few months. It is nice. They cleaned their mess up over night which must have been tough.

wow. Nice grading too man. Looks like Shia looks the same on a 7D as he does on film. :p lol

Curious if one could run into any legal problems shooting something like that ? Sorry I'm not trying to rain on your parade, but was wondering for myself...

No problems as of now. The Vimeo link has like 10,000 hits so I am assuming it would have been pulled if there was a problem by now. There are a slew of videos on there and youtube that show a lot more than my video does so I am guessing it is not a problem.

A friend took this from the 16th floor at the Trump building.
