In 2005, Ohio University professor Frederick Lewis, screened his personal documentary on artist Rockwell Kent at the Lake Placid Film Festival. At this event Lewis met Russell Banks, and inquired about the adaptation of Banks' novel Trailerpark.
Starting Winter 2008, four Ohio University students began the process to adapt novelist Russell Banks' Trailerpark, a collection of short stories, into a feature length screenplay.
Early October, after hours of rewrites, a shooting script emerged, Professor Lewis obtained shooting rights to Trailerpark, and a crew of sixty- eight credit earning students, enrolled in Ohio University's School of Media Arts and Studies class, MDIA 419.

Blog updated with audio equipment, and guinea pig folly testing behind the scenes video!

With the collaboration of the audio sequence in the Media Arts and Studies School, we have decided to raise the level for student production and produce a 5.1 final audio mix. In order to achieve this, our audio team is bringing on set production to an advanced student production level. The audio crew has decided to run dual system, with multiple audio field channels through an m-box, onto a laptop running pro-tools as the mixing unit.
As, a Co-Director of Photography, it is a great relief to know that after working on many student productions where audio is always put aside, I will finally get a great chance to know sound will be an element of the storytelling.

These badboys have already been put to good use and will prove wonderful in a pinch squeezing them into little trailer corners. Thanks Coollights!
