Tower 548.

wow, pretty impresssive. I especaially liked the opening sequence of dof shots of the wires and pliers etc... That was lit very nicely and had a good flow to.

What lenses did you use? What did you use for your moving shots? What did you use for lighting (if anything?) .

I like the color correction gives it a nice feel. What did you edit on?

i really enjoyed the score to.

Keep more comming.

Nicely produced, although I did not care much for the subject matter.

But it had my interest, I just don't like media that glorifies violence, and that's a lot of media, so don't take it personal.

Thanks guys!

It was shot with a single Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 zoom, interior was lit with a china ball and kino's. Exteriors were all natural light, just handheld with the camera. I may have used the strap around my neck extended to steady the walking shots but I don't quite remember... Shot the moving shots at a wider focal length to avoid some of the more severe jello, which seemed to work pretty well.

I also shot the exteriors a bit warmer to heighten the feeling of dryness and heat, with a little enhancement in post. I tried to nail most of the color on set but, like the interior at the beginning, I had to push the look a little in post to achieve the dark mood and contrast.

So - how'd you do the 'splosion?? Google up that sort of thing and you see loads of terrible work - yours was great; you "cheated" a bit by just giving us a few frames, but the sense that the blast knocked out the camera justified that, seems like a good call to me.

As for the "glorifying violence" - I guess if you can fake an explosion like that, it's kind of hard NOT to...

Thanks!

Michael, the VFX were done in AE, lots of compositing and layering. I used some base elements from different packages, I think the main blast came from Andrew Kramer's "Action Essentials 2". I'll see about getting the full VFX shots up just so you guys can see them in more detail.

cool job Andrew

for some reason, d90 (although the codec is dirty) , brings a storytelling/filmic dimension to the 24p...:)

Yes, this looks great! Which scenes did you use kino's? And how did you keep the video from getting all wavy when you used them? I always have problems with this when I use fluorescents...

Nice. I have to mention that even the acting did not take away from the mood as opposed to many of these tiny projects.

True!
And it was so well shot, edited and scored that it immidiately made me forget that I just wanted to check the image quality. Very good work in every aspect I think

The beginning INT. scene was lit with fluorescent, I got rid of the banding by scanning the camera across an evenly lit area (the back wall of the room in this scenario) until they disappeared then AE-L. It's all a matter of the shutter speed lining up with the refresh of the light. Then, if the exposure wasn't where I wanted it, I would adjust it slightly using the 'playback' button + up or down on the control pad to re-expose.

Thanks for the comments! I'll pass the kind words along to the director as well.

I love the opening shots.
The outdoor stuff felt a bit rushed.
Could totally live without the car side mirror shot !
I think the explosion was very nicely done and it cuts in the perfect moment.
good job.

I loved it! Quick question for you: What did you use to score your music? It was probably the BEST I have seen of any of the projects.
