Hey I don't know if you already met up but I just moved to Waterloo it's not all that far from Toronto, I'd love to have a meeting but I'm also available for projects.
I do all sorts of stuff, I write direct and edit (Final Cut). As far as film goes I'm not to experienced I mean I've been making shorts and learning the craft sense I was like 9 but as far as working on a set with other people it's something I have not been able to do as much as I'd like to- I'm only 16.
so is this group still in existence? Did it ever happen? I'm commuting between Atlanta and Toronto with most of my time spent in Toronto these days, so it would be good to meet my fellow DVXUsers in the area. Anybody up for it?
hey Kegan, well at least it is a start. Maybe if we begin it, more people will come and we can get something going here. I'm in the North York area and pretty much do film and video full time, so I'm open to a meeting whenever.
Guys, I'm up for it too. In the Annex myself. Let me know what transpires. What do you usually do at these meetings? Shoot the sh*t. I'm strictly doing film/video on the side now, finishing a 30 minute short, although I did work in production for about 5 years.
And I dunno what usually transpires at these meetings. I figure it's a chance to meet fellwo filmmakers and see who you get along with, cuz if you can't get along then not much chance of working together.
I imagine the next thing would be to figure out how we wanna work together and who brings what skillset to the table.
Tricky part is always whose story we wanna shoot, becasue everybody's always got the best idea....
so let's work towards step three with some beer in hand at least.
I'm happy to say I won't be shooting anything substantial of my own for at least a year! I'm trying to finish up a year long project and cannot wait to work on something that isn't mine. What date are you guys throwing around?
