C200: too early

So what was it? 10 bit 422 codec to sd cards?

I kid, but if they wanted to disrupt the EVA1, that'd do it. Problem is it'd kill off the c300 II at the same time...

Ah... On a serious tip, I was really hoping for proxy renaming to be fixed. Oh well...

You and me both. Also, the option to output UHD Prores HQ and 1080 Prores HQ from the Cinema RAW Development software would make life so much easier. DCI 4K 4:4:4:4 still requires another round of rendering and outputting to get to something usable for most mortals.

Yeah, but I have to invest at least a few hours to actually learn how to use Resolve 14. I tried messing with it and it's not very intuitive to me, it seems like AVID, like it only does things one way and if you don't know that way, it isn't going to perform for you. I know, click on YouTube and get up to speed, gotta do that soon.

You can output 1080 ProRes HQ if you use one of the proxy options in CRD.

Thanks for the heads up, that's cool.

You're welcome. Sadly, choosing the lower quality and lower res output makes no difference in how long it takes to transcode the raw file to ProRes; it's exactly the same speed as transcoding to ProRes 4444.

Enable "quick development" and choose 1/4 instead of full (tabs under play tab in viewer). That helps a lot (same as within redcine).
I transcode all to Prores LT 1080 (1/4 debayer quality). Transcode to 4k 4444 only the clips that made it in the edit later, and relink those on fcpx project

Wow, that's a great tip! Thanks.

Hmm...I can't duplicate Alvise's results.

If I transcode 1 minute raw video to 4K ProRes 4444, it takes 1:26. If I use the proxy option (HD PreRes 422 LT), it takes 1:05. (I was wrong earlier: it's a little quickly to make a proxy.)

However, if I turn on Quick Develop in the Preview window, change the quality to 1/4, and choose the Quick Development option in the Export dialog, then re-run the transcode, it take the same time as not have Quick Development on.

What am I doing wrong?
