Hey guys i want to start off by saying thank you so much for all your effort to make this the best forum for film and video production. Anyways i was going through some old photography stuff the other day and came across this FD Tokina 28mm 1:2.8, my first thought was ebay. But then i realized i might be able to use it on my 7d, so would it be any good or should i just sell it? Thanks in advance for all your help.

Happy filmmaking

Cole

FD lenses require a lens element adapter to be able to focus to infinity because the flange length (distance from the mount to film or sensor) is shorter on EOS lenses. Even the best lens element adapter can cost you something in resolution. In dollars the adapter may cost more than a used Nikon 28mm 2.8 (or maybe a few used Nikon lenses) which only needs a stainless steel adapter on Ebay for as little as 20 bucks. That's why FD mounts are so cheap even though nice glass.
